Good for training, but ...

Good for training, but for those of you who have decided to use FMJ rounds for self-defense I wouldn't recommend these. CCI Blazer and Cor-Bon JHP seemed to be notably cleaner shooting and more accurate. The higher pressure of those CCI and Cor-Bon rounds also allowed limp-wristing of my wife's Bersa Thunder while the American Eagle wouldn't keep up. In fairness though they are still quite accurate. You could easily pull off sub 2" groups at 25 yards in a good pistol if thats the thing that gets you going. Please don't get super mass-produced FMJ ammo as your self-defense round unless that's all your gun feeds. You don't need extreme penetration to do the job. In the Marine Corps under-penetrating 5.56 ammo has done just fine for quite a while. I'm a pretty big dude and it only takes 8 1/2" to reach my spine from any angle of shot. I can see a time where American Eagle would jam when things get intense and you shoot 3 shots faster than you supposed to be capable of shooting. Several times trying to shoot a magazine filled with 5 rounds fast as I can it would cause the gun to jam, usually on the second round. Better to put 3 or 4 expanding slugs that have more TLC put into their production and design. Hope ya'll stay safe and enjoy whatever ammo you get.

I have shot a lot of this ammo, two boxes at a time, mostly through Beretta Cheetahs. Always functions perfectly, a bit dirty, but reliable. Accurate, well probably as accurate as a 380 can get, it hits a bowling pin at 100 yards more shots than not.

I understand the arguments for not using FMJ in this diminutive round for social purposes, but it is very accurate and feeds reliably in my LCP. So for the price it is good practice ammunition.

Ok heres the deal, this and all bulk plinking ammo is made for just that, PLINKING!! You get what you pay for, just like anything else. They make this ammo and all BULK ammo using colder slower burning powder, and primers. To give you a discount, brass is good to fair depending on brand and run. This works well in 4 to 5inch pistol barrels. However in 2 to 3inch subcompact 380s the powder doesnt have the barrel length to completely burn, leaving un burnt powder all over the place, and resulting in low velocities. DO NOT USE THIS AMMO FOR SELF DEFENSE AMMO, wasnt designed for that. If your pistol wont feed hollow points, buy high grade FMJ with hotter primers and powder. Try Winchester Silvertips for stubborn hollow point loading pistols, worked well in a customers fixed barrel made Berretta copy. Also most high end 380s need at least 300rds break-in before u carry concealed, and during this time failures are common in the 380 acp caliber. Due to light bullet weight and cold powder and primers. Always try 3 or 4 brands of ammo after break-in and see what works best for you and your climate conditions. Remember if your gun isnt cycling try a really heavy bullet like a 105 grain, should help. Ive used these and Rem, Winchester, and Fiocchi with about the same results out of my Sig P232 and P238s. All good for FUN shooting!

Never had a problem in the Bersa, or Keltec. Good plinking ammo, or small game. A little low on the velocity for anything more though.

Good performance and very reliable with my Colt Mustang, Colt Government and Sig P238 pistols. I've had no issues after hundreds of rounds and prefer this brand over others.
