Product Information

Perfect for the reloader with limited working space, or someone looking for solution to portable reloading needs. The Frankford Arsenal Portable Reloading Stand will allow any reloader to easily turn their press into a portable workstation. This 27" tall stand can be quickly slipped together or taken apart in a matter of seconds. This stand is built to withstand resizing even the largest magnum rifle cases and features a compact and lightweight design making it easy to store and transport. The 9" x 9" hard plastic top has a drilling template outlining hole positions for many of today's most popular presses. Included with the stand are 2 accessory bins which clip onto the edge of the stand for component or tool storage. This reloading stand is perfect for the apartment-dweller or anyone who is limited on space. This stand has a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.

This portable bench is ...

This portable bench is just the ticket for the reloader that does not have the room to build a large reloading bench. Several years ago I purchased a reloading press kit with dies from Midway then discovered I did not have room to mount the press on my workbench! My wife had other plans for the space that the work bench occupied. Just as well because the bench was located in an unheated garage. I purchased this portable reloading bench and began reloading. I have been extremely pleased with the quality and utility of the stand and have not had any problems with it. Mine is about 4 years old. It is easy to take apart and store when not reloading. The only thing I would change on it would be the size of the table. It gets a little crowded at times.

I Don't recommend this product and this is why:Top plate spins and is too small for mounting a RL550B with strong mount, table is way too light for use with a press, it moves way too much. After I weighted the bottom down it still would move due to bottom plate being made of very light and thin plastic. Bottom line is this product can use more weight and rigidity.

I have used this stand for many years. Have Lee Classic cast press on one side and a Lee classic turret press on the other. I have multiple tables. I used a Lee turret press for many years succesfully. I load 45-70, pistol rounds, 30-30, 30-06, 7mm mag., etc. No problems. I work in a small space and it lets me switch out presses with no problems. Great item. Top is a little cramped, but I've never had any tipping problems.

I have used this stand for over 12 years. I have a couple of support plates. One has a RCBS Junior along with a Forester Case Trimmer, the other has a Lyman cast bullet resizer. Works great for pistol cartridges. For big loads, I use my Rock Chucker to resize and do priming and seating bullets on the stand in the front room while watching TV. Gets mighty hot in AZ front room with AC is great.

The manual for this stand ...

The manual for this stand is available online. I've got a Forster Co-Ax press. It is a substantial single-stage press. The instructions said it would work with this stand. A template was included with the stand to drill holes in the plastic top plate. I was concerned, because it looked like they would land almost directly on the plastic cross bracing underneath. I was very precise in my drilling and there is absolutely no way to apply the required nuts or washers (not supplied). the stand is also terribly out of balance with the Co-Ax on it. So, I write Frankford Arsenal about the issues. They suggested changing the mounting location closer to the edge. If this thing is out of balance now, I do not have any desire to see it with that suggestion. They said it may have problems with the larger multi-stage presses. I'm following YOUR drilling template. So, then they said I always have the option to return it. I call up my friends here and ask if I can return it once I've drilled holes in it. Nope, didn't think so. I'll be buying another brand to replace everything.

I have been using this reloading stand for close to 20 years and have not had any problems with it. The largest caliber I load is 44 magnum, and the only rifle cartridge I reload is .223. I can see that there could be problems loading large calibers with a heavy press, but I load mostly pistol calibers and have had no problem with the stand. I put both feet on the base of the stand which keeps the stand from moving or tipping. If you're going to load .50 BMG or other large calibers this is not the stand for you, go to something that is all steel construction, or a bench. But, if you're going to load smaller calibers, this is a great space-saver, and reasonably priced. I would recommend this to anyone who has limited space to reload, and doesn't require a heavy-duty stand.

It is a great dust ...

It is a great dust collector, or parts kit for building your own stand, but it makes no sense to use it as it comes. As someone who does machining, I can tell that equipment stands have to be rigid, strong, and stable. While the pipe column of this stand may meet those requirements, the table and base fail miserably. Why put your expensive press, and your personal safety at risk? It does not make financial sense. When the best known cost cutter in the industry (Lee) builds their stand with a metal top and real legs, you have to figure that this plastic topped "lollipop" stand takes saving a buck just a little too far. Frankly, the Lee stand is marginal enough, but for a little more money, I would certainly say it is a better choice than this beast.

I have been using this stand for awhile now, so far the top as not broken but I can understand some of the reviews as it is rather unstable and could if a heavier press was mounted on it, I have a Redding big boss II mounted on it loading 223s which does not require much pressure but still have to use a sandbag placed at the rear of the base to keep it from falling over and with that the tube will flex some. It seems to work okay for what I am doing but would not put a lot more weight or pressure on it or it could be a real problem, with limited space this is about all I could find right now but still looking, The lee stand is overpriced and is way to high for comfort and if I were to do it again I would continue to look for another alternative.

Good for the person who does not have much room. I mounted a Lee Classic Turret press, and a Lee Single stage press to it, no problems. One on one side and one on the other. I also have a powder measure mounted on it as well. I originally bought it when I did not have a bench to reload on. Now I have a bench, but still use this stand. Good product.

For the Hornady Powder ...

For the Hornady Powder measure and case prep center this is fine. But for the press, the material is too flimsy, starts breaking as soon as you need to put pressure on the lever. The idea is good, but needs to be made out of more durable material, not the top being plastic. Only reason I gave this a one (1) is that zero is not an option. After spending my money on this product I still had to turn around and pay for a regular reloading bench. If the top would be made out of more durable material, it would be a top of the line product.

The stand works OK, ...

The stand works OK, however, it flexes. I used it with the LEE single stage press and after resizing about 1000 shells, the press cracked in half at the base. That seemed strange. I replaced it with an old Lyman heavy single stage press and that is when I noticed the plastic top flexes. That is what caused the LEE press to break. The Lyman will not break as it is heavy duty cast. The LEE should not have broke in half. The top needs to be reinforced more.
