Product Information

Barnes bullets have historically had the reputation of offering quick, clean and humane kills. Now they are taking their highly regarded bullets to the next level loading them in ammunition.

Loaded with the Barnes Triple-Shock X (TSX) Bullet, this round offers devastating results on varmints. The Barnes TSX bullet is made of 100% copper and contains no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight. The 223 Remington bullet is ideal for varmint sized game as well as deer-sized game.

VOR-TX ammunition is manufactured to precise tolerances to ensure excellent accuracy and consistent velocities. This ammunition is new production, non-corrosive, in boxer-primed, reloadable brass cases.

Deadly on deer - 180 yards whacked a doe

Used my AR-15-m4 with scope plus this Barnes ammo at 180 yards last weekend; Shot and killed 140-lb doe (on hoof)who ran ~25 yards after impact. Deadly. 55gr is enough bullet for deer this size. The impact at 3000+fps is deadly. Can't wait 'til next year. One shot, one kill.

Wanted the best bullet for deer hunting with my Colt M4. Last thursday I shot an 8 point that field dressed 160 according to the folks at the cooler. Shot at about 80 yards he ran another 70 yards and I heard him fall in the dry leaves. The shot was quartering away and got both lungs but couldn't find the bullet or an exit. I no longer wonder if the 223 is enough gun for deer. What else can I say? Deadliest bullet on the planet, says so right on the box.

I used this ammo in my Cooper with 1-12 twist. 300 yards kills on ground hogs. I thought I would give them a try at 150 yards for diner when I saw a bunny, not much left to cook. Barnes knocks it out the park with this ammo.

Used this exact ammo to harvest a good size doe last season. 60 yard broad side shot through heart and lungs exited other side. She ran 50 yards and fell. This ammo makes the .223 a serious deer rifle as long as you understand yours and its limitations. Great Ammo!!

I bought this ammo for my eight year old daughters 223 and first deer hunt. Spent alot of time at the range until she was comfortable shooting out to 100yds. I have been shooting the barnes bullets out of my 270 for four seasons and have always been impressed with the results in the field. My daughter took a 90lb doe at 94yds with a shot through both lungs and dropped the deer in its tracks. The bullet was a complete pass thru and small entrance but surprising the size of exit hole if the deer had run I think the blood trail would not have been a problem at all. I am extremely impressed with the barnes bullets and would highly recomend them to other hunters in any caliber.

I bought a couple of boxes because of the rebate. Now I will be buying it because it is accurate, deadly accurate! 2 rounds launched at 2 different pigs, about 125lbs each, and they stumbled about 5yds and flopped over. This stuff is good to go in my book out of my 2 X-Bolts

I am impressed with this ammo. I usually use Hornady ammo out of my rifles, but I brought a DPMS panther AR-15 and wanted to try something new. So I brought a box of Barnes ammo, all I can say is another hard hitting ammo like Hornady. I shot a big boar 250 lbs over the weekend in the head with barns ammo 1 shot in the head and the pig dropped in its tracks. Thats what I like to see in a ammo.

My intent for this ammunition was for an upcoming wild boar hunt. I had great concerns regarding this small of a bullet in a need of huge penetration of bone and hide. Long story short, I harvested a 400lb male boar with a single well placed shot. I am amazed with what is possible with this round! I would not be concerned at all taking a big game animal in this caliber with this bullet choice at all! Dont take my word for it, test it and be as impressed as I am. I'm a Barnes bullet life timer!

I used this ammo in a H&R Ultra on a whitetail hunt in Tom Green County. Killed two bucks with this ammo. First one was a huge bodied small antlered 5 point that I needed help loading onto carrying basket. Shot him at 110 yards through the heart, the only thing left was the top part of the organ with the main arteries attached, bullet exited. No blood trail he only went 10 yards so no big deal. I got an old 5 point the second day had to shoot through a gap in brush about the size of a basketball. deer was quartering away bullet entered behind the diaphragm cutting part of the stomach, bottom of left lung, through heart, top of the right lung, and through the right shoulder lodging under the skin. Shot was 50 yards and again the buck only went about 10 yards. This is great ammo for those that are introducing new people to our sport as well as youth plus anyone who wants to use a 223 for deer. I would give it 5 stars but you are limited in range to 150 yards maybe 200 if you're an accomplished shooter.

So far I am impressed. Got these for my son to use for hunting whitetail, pigs, and exotics. He shot a whitetail and this round made an entrance and exit at 100 yards, which I seldom had with other brands.
