Product Information

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

I am shooting these ...

I am shooting these bullets in a Ruger 77 350 Rem Mag. withTAC powder at 2800fps. This combination shoots 3/8 to 1/2 in. for 3 shots at 100 yds. from a cold barrel the accuracy is amazing. I highly recommend these Bullets.

Loaded this at 2850fps ...

Loaded this at 2850fps (muzzle) in a 350 Rem Mag that I took to Africa for a plains game hunt. Load developed shot 0.50 @ 100yds. Exited everything except for a Zebra, and it penetrated approx 42", through bone and heavy muscle, on a quartering shot taken at 70yds. The recovered bullet looked just like the advertisements. I will not be using any other bullet for hunting. The remainder of my bullet stores will be used for plinking.

I'm still using up the ...

I'm still using up the remainder of the excellent ungrooved XFB version of this bullet in my inventory. (And they have been very accurate in my rifles!) But I recently used a 200 grain Barnes X on a seven foot grizzly. The shot entered below his chin, broke a section of the sternum, through arteries and lung tissue, broke a portion of the shoulder on one side, and exited. The bear fell at the impact and was dead momentarily. The rifle I loaded these for is a 358 Norma.

Great Bullets, I have ...

Great Bullets, I have used Barns X bullets since 1994. I shoot this bullet in a Remington Model 673 350 Rem. Mag. At 400 yards this rifle shot a 1.75 inch 3 shot group. All X bullets penetrate like no other bullet I have used and are easy to get to shot accurately. As to the copper fouling I have never had a problem in 8 different rifles and calibers. You simply can not go wrong with the Barns X or TSX or TTSX.

This is an excellent ...

This is an excellent bullet. I load the Barnes 200 grain for my 35 Whelen to ~2650 fps. I get under 1" groups at that velocity. Between my father and I, we shot four whitetails and three hogs this past year. Great perform as all went straight down. Only one bullet was recovered after penetrating over 24" of boar (including bone) on a weird angle. It was a perfect mushroom and still weighed 199 grains! I will not be loading anything else for hunting.

I loaded this bullet with IMR 4895 for my .350 Rem Mag Model 7. It was extremely accurate. Had the good fortune to used it Elk hunting in Colorado last month. Opening morning had a nice 5 point bull facing me at 50 yard. The shot struck left of center straight on in the chest, Elk dropped straight to the ground and was dead in a few minutes. Bullet traveled all the way to his stomach.

According to Barnes this bullet was designed expressly for the 350 Remington Mag. Most other bullets weighing more intrude into the case too much and can raise pressures. I use it's bigger brother, the 225 grain FB. in my 35 Whelen. It is too long for the 350 Mag. Before finding this bullet I was using a 225 gn. Nosler Partition at 2700 fps. I am driving this bullet to nearly 2900 fps using IMR 4320 with no pressure signs. If you use Western Powder's TAC, Barnes says you can drive this bullet to nearly 2950 fps. According to the Barnes' load manual several powders will drive it to 2800-2850fps. I am getting 5 shots under an inch in my Ruger short action. Pound for pound this rifle/bullet combination hits harder and does more damage than any other rifle I have except for my 45-70 Guide Gun with 405 grain bullets at 1900 fps.

I was very impressed at ...

I was very impressed at the 1st time I used the Barnes 200 grain 358 caliber Triple Shocks. My M77-MKII 350 Rem Mag is not a tack driver, but when I pushed these 200s to 2,900 fps I obtained a 0.75 inch group.Slowing them down to 2,550 fps gave me one ragged hole. And, they actually hold together on large game...Great bullet !

I have been in the process of developing a load for my .35 Whelen. I have had excellent results with other Barnes products and thought that I would try the Triple Shock 200 gr. flat base. I was very pleased with the results. The particular load that I settled on is consistently under 1" MOA at 100 yds. The velocity developed through my chronograph is at 2715 fps. Over all, a very impressive load. I have found a new load for elk hunting. You can bet that I'll be ordering more of these bullets in the very near future.
