My only complaint was that I had to use both hands to keep it from wiggling away from the powder pan on the scale while I was measuring. But, after removing the shaft and plastic parts I turned it over and filled it with melted lead, problem solved!

For a few dollars more, ...

For a few dollars more, consider the Redding instead. It is MUCH heavier, is well made, and stays put the way a powder trickler should!

As most everyone else says, it is fairly light. I was able to cast about 1.3 pounds of lead into the bottom cavity. Couldn't ask for anything better now.

It works OK, but it ...

It works OK, but it doesn't like small spherical powders, it starts to bind up and stops turning. Also it's a little short to drop onto my Rangemaster scale so I have to prop it up on the load book.

Excellent Trickler from RCBS. I had to add lead weight to the bottom of the unit for one hand operation. Other than that, it's a very good product and it does what it's supposed to do. I would recommend this trickler to anyone looking to buy one.

I was a bit disappointed ...

I was a bit disappointed by the fairly light weight, so I found some small steel washers and a large steel nut that just fit in the bottom. I placed the large nut in the bottom and then filled the surrounding space with tiny washers. I then filled the bottom with epoxy to hold it all in and kept the epoxy below flush -- level with the little (higher) rim around the perimeter. Now the trickler is heavy enough to easily use one - handed and is high enough from the factory that I don't need to block it up to be over my scale pan (like some say you need to do with the Redding trickler).

This is a really useful trickler. I don't think it's too light. I have not had any problems with it moving around on the bench. It doesn't leak out any powder around the shaft and is consistent. Overall it a great buy
