Designed for the Ruger 10/22 and Ruger 10/22 Magnum, this hardened A2 tool steel extractor will not lose its edge under impact. Replaces factory stamped part and includes an extra power extractor spring. Will fit Ruger Mark 2 handgun if using factory extractor spring. Manufactured using EDM (electrical discharge machining) for extemely tight tolerances (+/-.0001"), hardened to 58-60RC.

I use this extractor in every one of my Ruger 10/22's and Ruger MkII's as it has always cut down on the number of stove piles and failed ejections. Volquartsen's use of high grade metals, high tech machining and outstanding finish make this extractor the best one on the market in my opinion. Almost all of the people I shoot bowling pins with have this extractor in their guns, the others are waiting for them to be delivered.

While I dont shoot much match ammo through my gun, I was still hoping that this item would solve my ejection problem, and it didn't. If I don't fire the round in the chamber, I still have to dig it out with a knife, wish this product would have worked better.

The extractor was fairly easy to install and fits perfectly in my 10/22. It totally cleared up the bad extraction issue I had prior. I put one in my Mark III as well.

Bought a used MarkIII love it, Had several fail to extracts, easy first order from Midway, easy to find parts you need, picked the one I wanted (had 3 to choose from) came in the mail shortly, found a u-tube video on how to dissasemble and install parts, easy once you know all the little tricks to dissasemble this gun.

well everbody probably already knows that it is a good extractor butt just wanted to confrim that one just installed it no more stove pipes with my 10/22 can know shoot any ammo threw it agian . comparedit to my old one and either the old one was worn out or built to lose specs butt the volquartsen holds the bullet in place a lot snuger then the factory one a must get for any 10/22. thanks

My new 10/22 Takedown was having the odd FTE with cheap ammo, so I put in this extractor (kept the stock spring) and I haven't had an FTE yet!! I also replaced the steel bolt stop with the Poly recoil buffer and put in the Automatic Bolt Release (in silver) because the stock release was causing frustration for everyone in my family!

My Ruger MKII ...

My Ruger MKII malfunctioned from the first year I had it, many years ago; the extractor would let the fired shell go and it would lodge between the recoil spring guide rod and the inside wall. I sent it to Ruger to be fixed, but the problem has continued. This week I installed the Volquartsen extractor and no malfunctions in 200 rounds. Installation required removing the firing pin retaining pin and retracting the extractor spring, but was easier than taking down and reassembling the gun to do the work! Just comparing the two parts shows you the difference in quality between the factory part and the Volquartsen.

Outstanding product. It cured ejection problems in my old well used Ruger Mark II. The empty cases really come out of that ejection port.The weird part is that my pistol operates with standard velocity ammo now, except that it will not lock back on an empty mag.before installing this part it was a single shot with standard velocity ammo.

Excellent craftsmanship, easy to install, one huge benefit. Like many, my 597 was prone to jams. Every 5 or so shots, with any type of ammo. After installing this, the problems seemed to vanish.

My wife bought me a Picuda a few years ago for Christmas, I loved this gun execpt it would jam all the time, I was told to keep the barrel clean due to it being a Bentz barrell, (a tighter fit), this did not help, I tried CCI's and I still had problems, a Picuda is an up scale model of the Ruger Charger so I thought why not for ten bucks I will give this extractor a try, I am sure glad I did, my Picuda will now spit out even the cheap bulk Walmart ammo, I no longer get upset with this gun when at the range and put it away, I enjoy shooting this gun now, I would recommend to anyone.

It installed easily, but ...

It installed easily, but so does the stock one. I didn't really notice too much of a difference. I was stove piping with CCI Blazers, but I think that could have been a bad box since it's never happened before, and I've put 1000's of Blazers through the 10/22. The extractor seems to have helped with the remaining "suspect" Blazer rounds.
