The Alpha Dogg doesn't give you just individual sounds to choose from, it has 6 complete Expert (TM) hunt sequences and 75 different sounds. These are proven hunt sets that get dogs in! The caller is powered by dual 25 watt, distortion-free speakers, allowing for crisp, clear and loud calls. Simple to use Remote can be operated quickly with one hand and has a range of 200 yards. Remote sound list is displayed on easy to read 2.5" High Res. TFT screen and sounds are organized by species such as coyote, fox, bobcat, deer, elk, etc.

Had to return the first unit due to a defective internal antenna in the caller. No hassles...second unit works perfectly. As already said, more that loud enough for the windiest days or long range open ground calling. You can load Primos extra sounds or other MP4 sound files from a PC or laptop if needed, but it already comes with many great sound files that are as good or better that I can do with mouth calls. Very clear and crisp, no hiss or crackling even when cranked up to ear splitting volume. Warning: Don't set it past 10 to 15 inside your house...and it goes to 100. If you don't crank the volume way up (you don't need to on this caller), battery life is several days worth of sets when calling on alkaline. I use rechargeable AA's and have had nothing but good success with this package on coyotes, bobcats and crows.

Call showed up yesterday and I had a little time today to throw the batteries in and play around with it awhile,. Initial thoughts and first impression is WOW! Played with a lot of the sounds (too many to sample in one sitting) and so far so good,. The actual sounds per different species and sound selection are very impressive and life like, speaker quality seems very good, the volume is absolutely ridiculous loud if needed, setting up your favorite sounds and setting up 2 individual hot keys is an absolute breeze and a nice alternative to the FoxBang feature, remote display is awesome and very easy to see, controls on the remote are placed well and easy to maneuver without constantly looking down. Actually seems durable and well-built from looking it over so far (time will tell after a few trips in the field) and packs up very nicely, remote even piggy backs on the back of the units carry handle. This thing holds up with average field use and doesn't gobble up 2 sets of batteries a day, it's going to make a lot of hunters that only want to drop a couple hundred on a call very happy. Priced pretty close to the Spitfire, and believe me, I love my Foxpro,..but they're not even in the same league anymore, the Alpha Dogg looks like it's going to send the Spitfire home kicking rocks. I'm going to give it a whirl with a few stands next weekend and keep everyone posted.
