Thumler's Tumblers are heavy duty tumblers that will last a lifetime. The professional quality tumbler is built strong to last. They feature a heavy-duty motor, steel hexagon barrel with removable rubber lining and efficient and quite operation. The Model B is perfect for reloaders looking to use a liquid media or even stainless steel tumbling media, but will work equally well with dry media.

Great way to clean brass

I use this to clean all my rifle and pistol brass. I have tried the sonic and vibratory cleaners, they don't come close. This will clean your brass inside and out, including flash holes, better than either of the other options. It is also no where near as loud. A little more money but worth it. I also received it with a bent part and Thumler's customer service was top notch, immediately sending a replacement part.

Pros and Cons just like most anything...

Pros - gets brass SUPER SUPER clean! Never have to replace media. Works great for cleaning Stainless steel silencer parts as well as brass.

Cons - Lemishine is a must, without it, brass just don't clean right, can't do super large batches.

Overall I am very pleased, and I have used this method of wet tumbling for all of my bottleneck case cleaning. However, I still use my dry tumbler for the first step in the cleaning process.

After dry tumble, it's resize/deprime, trim, then a wet tumble for a finish clean. Then reload. It's an extra step, but again, the brass ends up beautiful inside and out, and I knew this going in. I haven't used it for strait wall pistol cases because I do those in bulk, but I figure it would work just fine.

Pros: Cleans Beyond Dry ...

Pros: Cleans Beyond Dry Media. Cons: Small batch size. (Reason for 4 Stars and not 5)Additional steps to case prep. Time consuming compared to dry media Cleans inside and out, primers pockets included. I am still on a learning curve but so far so good. I am very pleased with the 308 cases I just cleaned. Just starting a batch of 45 ACP. I remove the clean cases by hand dumping the media from the cases as I go. Works fine. I may switch to my basket separator in the future. Found that rinsing the steel media is just a process of filling the tumbler with fresh water and dumping in a sink. Be careful not to dump any media. Fill rinse and repeat until water and media are clean. You are now ready to start another batch. Hot water works better. Drying is just a process of putting the cases on a bath towel. I believe those that are not in a hurry will like this product the best. If you are in a hurry to make thousands of rounds you will probably not like this tumbler. I would highly recommend this product.

My High Speed Model B ...

My High Speed Model B never takes hours... use hot water and goes faster. Only range tarnished/filthy brass takes hours- trick is to change water/solution at least once with the heavy tarnished stuff and speed up process. As others have said- use a few drops of Dawn and some LemiShine. If you have suds after tumbling, you used too much detergent. A friend suggested a 1/4 teaspoon of Cream of Tartar (tartaric acid) to give the cases a slippery feel- go thru dies smoother, but haven't tried yet myself.The high speed B is perfect for cases, but may be too fast for rock tumbling and seed ball making- as others have done... slow speed motors are cheap, though...Pulled the rubber liner and painted inside of barrel where rust was already forming after the first month or so. Can't keep water out- bare steel from factory. Can't speak to ultimate long- term reliability as I've only used it a couple of years.

This thing is great! No corn cob mess, no dust! But I dont know why some people say they tumble brass for hours? 60 minutes is all it takes to turn turn fired brass to looking brand new again!

Product arrived, took all of about five minutes to set up. I see a lot of quality in the making of this device. I set up with Dawn and water for the first batch and had good results. Went to the Home Depot for some Lemi-Shine, came home and added the quarter teaspoon to the gallon of water. This time removing the brass showed professional results. I only found the wingnuts (6) that fasten the lid to be a bit cumbersome. It does its job though of sealing the lid water tight. Reloading for twenty five years and never seen brass that clean.

Love this tumbler. I got it the other day and got it put together in just a few mins. Put my dirty brass some water dawn dish soap and 5 lbs of the stainless steel media. My brass came out so clean wow I just cant believe how good it looked. If you need a tumbler get this one and the stainless steel media works really good. My dad even has one and uses regular media and works well but the stainless works great!!

Well, I bought this based on the comments & reviews here. It works as good as these ppl said.. The brass looks brand new.. I had a RCBS vibratory that 'cleaned' the brass, but was never shiny & the inside really didnt get clean, or was the primer residue removed totally.. I WAS BLOWN AWAY with the results of this tumbler + the steel pin media.. I use RCBS cleaning liquid with one gallon of water, but will be switching to soap & lemon shine as suggested by some reviewers here. It did leak once, but that was because I had some steel pins & liquid in the gasket area... Now, I simply make sure the pins are not on the rubber contact area, and wipe the rubber surfaces dry before closing and it have NEVER LEAKED since.

There are precious few products I've purchased that live up to my expectations 100%. The Thumler Tumber is one of those products. In my opinion, superior to sonic cleaners and far superior to corn vibrator tumblers.
