This part simply doesn't fit a Benelli M4...that pretty much stops the review right there. I'll be returning mine and looking into the ProMag part...

Very easy to install. ...

Very easy to install. Came without instructions but very simple to do. Product I received was steel not aluminum. Looks very sharp. Good finish which matched other colors on shotgun. Worked perfectly. No hangups in shotgun's performance. Increased capacity by 2 rounds as stated.

I considered Dave's 2 rd ...

I considered Dave's 2 rd tube but after seeing how easy it is to install, I went with Dave's full 7 rd tube. Excellet workmanship and matches perfectly! But guess you can't go wrong with the 2 rd tube either!

I had ordered this tube ...

I had ordered this tube because I couldn't find the original Benelli extension tube after I moved, and didn't feel like looking through all of the boxes to find it (I know, how lazy is that?).I am very disappointed in the Dave's Metal Works mag extension tube I received, and I will be returning it this week. For one thing, it's aluminum instead of steel, and the finish is black instead of the dark grey phosphate finish of the gun. It's also a two-piece construction, which in my mind only adds one more potential problem (I know, in the real world it probably doesn't matter). But the biggest problem is that it will not fit the gun. It will only thread onto maybe the first 3/4 of the lead thread, and that's it- it won't go any further. So I turned the fat "adapter" portion of the tube around, thinking that perhaps the other side would fit better. Wrong- same problem. This tube simply will NOT fit my gun, period- and the very limited thread engagement presents a dangerous condition, so I gave up. But now I was really curious, and was a little worried that perhaps Benelli had changed the thread to prevent the use of an extension tube (this gun was built in September of 2008 and has the standard polymer stock, not the military stock). So I decided to go through my boxes until I found the original Benelli extension tube, which is phosphate steel. I FOUND IT! And wouldn't you know- it fits like a glove. It screws on completely, with no forcing, and no slop. So, at least I know my gun is not the problem, the Dave's Metal Woks mag extension tube is. I suppose it's possible that the wrong tube was supplied, but the outer packaging and the plastic sleeve on the tube itself clearly states "Benelli M4", but who knows- it could be the wrong tube. At any rate, it doesn't fit my Benelli M4, I found the original phosphate steel Benelli extension tube which DOES fit, and the Dave's tube is going back to Midway.
