A friend told me about ...

A friend told me about this ammo. I'd never hunted with shotgun slugs, but there are places where only shotguns are legal on some Military Reservations here in Calif. I bought a rifled BBL for my Rem. Mod. 1100 Auto 12 gauge and mounted a 4x Scope. We went to the range and my friend laser bore sighted my BBL. I fired my 1st shot at 25 yards. It was 10" high. Moved scope down and luckily it was just right. I hit dead center. Shot at 50 yds and hit dead in line, 1 inch high. Shot at 100 yards and shot the # 10 out of the middle of the 10 ring. Tried at 200 yards and hit about 3 inches low, dead in line. Then I shot 3 more shots at 200 yards. The 4 shot group was 2 inches center to center and dead in line, 3-4 inches below dead center. I now have a 200+ yard pig, deer, bear, elk shotgun/Rifle. Awesome Load. Thanks Ernie for a great tip.

These are not a "wonder slug". Your particular gun may or may not like them. Mine didn't (Remington 870, fully rifled barrel w/scope). Shot several three shot 4" groups at 50 yards from the bench. I get a 1" group at 50 yards with Winchester BRI slugs. But you must try them to see if your gun will like them. They are priced right, and recoil is lower than most any slug I have tried. The 20 gauge version would not stabilize from my sons 20 gauge with a Hastings barrel.

Heard a lot about these, decided to give them a try. Ran them thru an 11-87 with factory rifled barrel and am amazed of the accuracy of the slugs. Sighted in at 50 yards with using their recommended 2.7" high at 50. All five slugs were touching each other thru 3 different 5 shot groups at 50 and 100. Have yet to shoot a deer with these, but as far as accuracy goes on paper, I can't complain a bit about them. Check them out and see if your barrel likes them!

Shot this out of my ...

Shot this out of my Mossberg 500 with 24" slug barrel and tactical stock- it kicks like a 30-06 at about 21ft lbs which is doable for recoil. Groups were one on top each other for accuracy. This recoils much easier than the Remington Accushot 385gr load. Accuracy is about the same as the Rem Accushot- 30lb+ recoil. If you want about double a 44 mag performance with manageable recoil for quick follow-up shots with no flinching, Hornady 300's are the ticket. Accuracy at 100 M was dead center in heart zone for deer / hogs. 100M / yd zero works the best, 3 inch drop at 150, 12 inch drop at 200 for a red dot sight setup. 25-100yd = less than 1 inch trajectory rise to impact on this round. You do not need a shotgun scope for this round, it is that flat shooting.

Shot my first deer of the season with these slugs. I'm shooting these out of a Benelli SBE and they are outstanding in the accuracy department. I shot a doe at 25 yards in thick swamp. I couldn't ask for a better product. Accuracy means more to me than almost anything.

Just letting everyone know what this companies ammunition is capable of. On 10-29-11 my brother Matt was sighting in his Mossberg 500 pump slug gun with a 2-7X32 milldot scope mounted on his factory rifled barrel. With a .75" group at 100 yards, he shot at 150, 200, and finally 250 yards. I spotted for him and this combination shot a 3.5" group at 250 yards! I wouldn't have believed it unless I witnessed it with 15x binoculars as it happened. (used 1:35 twist 24 inch barrel)

Used them in my Rem ...

Used them in my Rem 11-87. I sighted in at 150 yards. My dad didn't believe that were accurate so I put three milk jugs full of water out in a field. I then ranged them they were at 225 yards. I have a Burris shotgun scope and decided to us the third line in the scope and shot over the first jug. So then I used the second line and the rest is history. The next shots hit three markets and my dad headed to the local guns store to get some.

Shot 3 boxes of this ammo ...

Shot 3 boxes of this ammo out of my 1187 slug gun with Hastings cantilever barrel (1/34 twist). Most rounds failed to fully cycle action. Accuracy was poor also. Hastings barrel warns may not cycle light rounds. Also these slugs should have a faster rifling twist like 1/26. I would not recommend these slugs for this gun/barrel combo.

I use a Browning Gold 12 ga. with a cantilever barrrel wiith a Nikon 3x9 variable scope.I site the scope in at 1 inch high at 50 yards. It shoots a grouping of 3 shots within a 11/2 circle.I started using SST slugs 4 years ago. I have killed 1-buck and 6 does with these slugs. They have real knock down power, as I hunt in a lot of timber and never had a deer run more than 30 yards after being shot.

Incredible ammunition!!! ...

Incredible ammunition!!! Used these with my Mossberg 12 gauge shotgun and they are incredibly accurate and clean to shoot. Shot a buck (deer) at over 150 yards and it had almost no drop. Hornady has my business!!!

Dropped a doe opening day ...

Dropped a doe opening day (Nov. 15th, 2010 ) at 248 yards using a box of this stuff!! Used a Savage bolt 12 gauge with scope set at 9x. Sabot exited and did fully expand. Flattest shooting ammo I've used. Groups very well for me in practice at distances. (look on my brothers face after she dropped---PRICELESS!)
