Iosso Brass Case Cleaner is a quick and easy liquid brass cleaner that removes fouling, tarnish, oil and grime from cases leaving brass bright and clean. A simple immersion in the liquid, a quick rinse and dry is all that is needed.

Technical Information

Directions for Use: Immerse the brass in the solution for 20 seconds up to five minutes, rinse and dry.

Notes:

Effectively removes powder fouling residue, oxidation, tarnish, discoloration, dirt, and grime.

A quart of cleaner cleans approximately two thousand cases depending upon the degree of tarnish and residue.

Used on very old, large (Vulcan) brass. Six cases per batch. Removed heavy rust (from long term storage with steel cases), oxidation, and powder residue from cases. Skip the bag on large cases and increase soak time. Scrub bad spots with bronze brush. Had little effect on skin.

This product does what it says. It cleans brass very quickly. You put your dirty brass in the bag, place the bag in the bucket of cleaner, and agitate lightly for about a minute. Brass comes out pretty clean, but then you have to be sure to rinse very well or your brass will be hazy and discolored when it dries. Afterwards, your brass will be clean, but not polished. If you count the time it takes to rinse, dry and if you want your brass shiny, you are better off getting a tumbler. If "just clean" is good enough, then this kit is "good enough."

I have been using this ...

I have been using this for a couple of years. The process that I follow is 1) Decap and size the brass. 2) Clean out the primer pocket 3) wash the brass in hot water and dishwashing soap. 4) Put brass in the bag and agitate in in the Iosso solution. 4) Rinse the brass. 5) Spread the brass out to dry overnight. If I am in a hurry I dry the brass with a heat gun (looks like a hair dryer, but costs only $10).

I have used this product ...

I have used this product and it is quick to get the brass looking good. Then I tried a sonic cleaner (Hornady L&L 2L) and in a 20 minute cycle the brass comes out even cleaner than using the Iosso cleaner. This product is way faster than tumbling, but not as good as a quality sonic cleaner. I wouldn't have known this until using the sonic cleaner. (This product is much cheaper beginning investment).

Had some cases I had ...

Had some cases I had picked up over the years that were plum cruddy. Followed the instructions & let them soak for about an hour. Rinse let the cases dry overnight outside 90+ % look real good. The grime that refused to come off by just polishing came out a whole lot better. Not all cases look factory fresh, but most do. Now I have to find out how many cases I can clean before I have to dispose of it. It started out clear ,but not anymore. If you have some old range brass let it sit overnight & you will be real satisfied with this product. Plastic coffee can works better than the bucket they sent. I ran the brass through my tumbler one more time for approx. an hour. They are pretty

Whoa !! I put 200 dirty ...

Whoa !! I put 200 dirty 9MM cases in the bag, dipped the bag in the solution, agitated it for a few minutes and viola, clean as new. Even the primer pockets were clean. Very nice product. Beats tumbling.

Bought it and cleaned ...

Bought it and cleaned approx 100 cases with it. Used it on some LC69 & LC74 30.06 military brass. The brass supposedly had not been fired but some of it was dinged up, the inside looked shiny and no residue was in the primer pockets or inside the cases. It did have a bunch of black tar sealant around the inside of the case neck. I can only guess this was applied to the base of the bullets to seal it. The cleaner did remove some of it but not all, it acted like it had dried it out. The tar like substance would flake off after that. But I still ran them thru a tumbler with walnut media. Prior to the tumbler I did as mentioned in some of the reviews and used a blow-dryer set on high. The cases came out clean but did appear dull brown/pink tarnish color to them. I can't help wonder if there isn't some ammonia in the products chemistry. Thought thats what the truth in advertising was all about."Cavet Emptor. Let the buyer beware!. Dont think I'll be using it any more think some gasoline or similar cleaner would have worked with a rinse in hot water and blow drying.

Got rid of all the crud ...

Got rid of all the crud easy enough. Easy to use. Leaves a rather unsightly white residue behind, though. Will need to be run through a tumbler anyway, so why bother with this stuff? I suppose if you pick up brass at the range that looks like it's been there since WWII, this stuff would be a good idea before putting them in the tumbler. Otherwise, a useless step.

I've been using this for ...

I've been using this for cleaning .303 British and .45 Colt brass, and have to say it does a fantastic job! The cases are clean inside and out, and helps the primer pocket a little. Remember that you have to decap the cases before you clean them. Some of the bad reviews for this product may have been from people who did not do so.

IOSSO case cleaner is an ...

IOSSO case cleaner is an excellent product! The grit left over after polishing is not something I want to subject my dies and reloading gear to. IOSSO cleaner leaves your brass squeaky clean with zero residue. Heres how I clean bottle neck rifle cases. Load an old plastic butter tub with enough IOSSO to cover the brass. Let site for 10 min. Plug your sink and add hot water. Take out 5 or so cases from the butter tub and roll between your palms like your washing your hands. Place washed cases in the sink/hot water. Continue until all cases are washed and in the sink. Return the used IOSSO to a spare container and rinse the now empty butter tub in the sink with fresh water. Keep the plug in the sink till the tub is clean. Now transfer the cases from the sink back to the tub and pull the sink plug. Fill the tub with the clean cases with Hot water and agitate. Pour off hot water and repeat until water is clear and cases are all clean. I use very hot water for the last rinse. Drain and place the cases on a terry towel and dry. Stand cases in a reloading block neck down to drain until dry or short cut by draining for 5 min then stack the cases on the towel like wood and use a blow dryer. Set on highest setting and blow air into the case necks. They will heat up quick and dry quick. When HOT to the touch, use a cotton swab to check inside of cases to confirm they are dry. Cases are now clean and ready to load! This cleaning process can be fully complete in 50% less time than tumbling alone.
