Hodgdon Powder offers the largest selection of quality smokeless propellants for any reloading application.

Hodgdon BL-C(2) is a spherical powder that began as a military powder used in the 7.62 NATO, commonly known as the 308 Winchester. When it was first introduced to the handloader, benchrest shooters and other target shooters made it an instant success. BL-C(2) works extremely well in the 204 Ruger, 223 Remington, 17 Remington, 22 PPC and of course, the 308 Winchester, plus many more.

Warning About Smokeless Powder:

Do not exceed the loads displayed in the reloaders guide.

Never mix any two powders regardless of type, brand, or source.

Never substitute any smokeless powder for Black Powder or any Black Powder substitute.

This powder works very ...

This powder works very well for me, in the 6.5 Grendel AR platform, shooting 123g Hornady a-max at 29.2g, sub half inch for 5 shots at 100 all day, burns well, is in my opinion on the clean side, and is fairly temp stable. great powder. and meters well.

I compete with a Rem 700 ...

I compete with a Rem 700 VTR, (.308). I've tried numerous powders and this powder is, by far, the best I've used for competition shooting up to and well past the 500-800 yard shots. For BOTH of my .308's, its the ONE powder for me. Especially when firing a 168gr BTHP. You can't go wrong with this. At 100 yds, expect 1" or less groups. Great powder!

Awesome powder!! Use for ...

Awesome powder!! Use for 35 Whelen, 308, and 223 with great performance in all 3 loads. 2800+fps with a 200 gr bullet in the 35. Great bear load, but its versatility is what makes it so awesome.

This powder produces the ...

This powder produces the best velocities in my 7.62X54 Mosin Nagant mod. 91/31. with 123 & 150 grain bullets. Using just the starting charge as listed per Hodgdon I was getting 2900 FPS with a 150 .311 bullet, one more grain and 2950 FPS! Amazing power and still well within pressure limits. I clocked 3144 FPS with a 125 grain sinterfire frangible .311 bullet with the start charge for a 125 as listed.

I use this powder for ...

I use this powder for mass .223 production for my AR. It meters so well out of an RCBS powder measure, it's usually within a tenth of a grain of desired charge. Even with these inexact practices, I still get under an inch accuracy at 100 yards! Burns clean, meters superbly, and top notch accuracy, what else do you need?

Been using BLC2 for a ...

Been using BLC2 for a while now on 30-30. When loading FTX bullets I have been getting the 2400 FPS that they advertise. And if you notice on the Hodgdon burn rate chart it is right next to their Leverevoloution Powder with almost the same loads I am using. I have to wonder if it is not the same powder just repackaged. Still working up my 308 loads with it, but so far the numbers have been very good. This is getting to be one of my favorite rifle powders.

Usually not crazy about ...

Usually not crazy about ball powder as it tends to burn a bit dirtier than particulate, but this stuff is great. We use it in 223, 308, & 30/06 with great results. All my comments are totally positive, love this easy metering powder!!

I use BLC-2 for all my heavy OTM .223-5.56mm reloads for both gas guns and bolt actions, including Nosler 77 grain Competition, Sierra 77 grain MatchKing, Hornady 75 grain Match, Barnes 70 grain TSX, etc.

It's quite versatile. ...

It's quite versatile. Load data for BL-C(2) is available for quite a few calibers and bullet weights. In my opinion, if you only want to keep 1 rifle powder on the shelf, this is the one. It is the closest commercial canister powder to W846 - the powder developed by the military for use in the 7.62x51 (.308).Being a ball powder, it meters very well through powder measures, creating very consistent velocities. Shots are very accurate at 100 yards as well.
