The .44-77 Sharps is rimmed bottle-necked case introduced in 1869 for the Model 1869 Sharps breech-loading rifle. It was based on the .43 Spanish and became popular as a target shooting round. The .44-77 Sharps can be loaded with projectiles weighing from 300gr to 470gr. Average velocities for a standard loaded .44-77 is 1,480 ft/s with ME of 1,782 ft-lbs. This cartridge may be used for close range medium game hunting.
