The RCBS Vibratory Case Tumbler makes case cleaning a breeze. It uses dry media to remove residue from brass and make it shine like new. The 1/4" thick bowl features a removable lid that lets reloaders check their cases during cleaning and the quite powerful motor is thermally protected.

I bought my RCBS Tumbler used about 15 years ago. It is used for prolonged periods of heavy use. I had the motor go south on mine two years after I bought it. I sent it in to RCBS and it came back with a new motor at no charge. It was sent in again in mid January with the motor starting to go out. Once again sent it into RCBS. New motor, no charge. I use corn cob media with Losso brand brass polish and the cases come out almost like mirrors in about 4 hours. I'm very pleased with this tumbler.

I purchased this item expecting the same quality I have found in other RCBS products. What a let down! Just as another buyer wrote, the motor quit in the first 24 hours. I took a look at the motor and to my dismay I found that they are using the cheapest possible motor they could get their hands on. The first flag went up when I realized I needed metric tools to disassemble the motor. There was an extreme amount of clearance between the motor shaft and the bearings. Then, I noticed that the rotor wasn't even securely fixed to the shaft and had come loose, sliding down the shaft and wedging against the lower bearing housing. New bearings will not solve this problem. A quick look at the housing shows that they used glue or silicone to fix the springs in place. The bottom line on this unit is simply poor part selection due to trying to maximize the profit on this item by RCBS. I'll never buy another one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have owned two of these. The first one lasted over 20 years of heavy use. The 2nd lasted just over a year of light use. I thought I was buying another quality RCBS product. I wont buy another one.

I purchased and used the RCBS tumbler for about four months and the motor began to freeze up. I was cleaning 50 to 75 .45 acp cases at a time so it was not overlapped. The motor finally stopped after another month and would not restart. I have ordered a Hornady M2.

Used this product 3 times till it froze-up and just hummed. Was going to return/exchange it but contacted RCBS and they informed me that they acquired new providers for the motors and would send me a new motor at no cost. I will give it a whirl and see how it goes...

When I started reloading a year and half ago I purchased this RCBS tumbler. Not much to report, it does the job perfectly. Typically I tumble brass for only 2-3 hours at a time. However I've tumbled rifle brass for 12+ hours before. The built-in fan on the motor keeps it running cool for any period of time. The unit is not terribly loud and stays in one place when loaded with media and brass. I liked it so much I recently picked up a second identical tumbler to double my capacity. My only gripe is the bowl capacity it not the highest.

A good looking tumbler... ...

A good looking tumbler... Unfortunately, that is where it ends.. My experience with this tumbler was poor at best. It worked well for about 15 hours and then the motor disintegrated. I did not overload the tumbler, using it mostly for 40sw and 223. I did clean some 308 brass in small lots, about 50 cases. The castings for the bearings on the ends of the motor were paper thin and shattered with a small amount of usage. I was very disappointed in the quality from RCBS.

I bought this tumbler ...

I bought this tumbler approximately 20-22- months ago. The original motor failed after cleaning ~ 5000-6500 cases. I contacted RCBS and they sent a new motor Sep 2011. That motor failed in Nov 2011 and I again contacted RCBS and they sent a third motor which failed the day I put it in the tumbler before cleaning any brass. I tested all three motors out of the tumbler and they still would not work. I sent all three back to RCBS with the recommendation to have a US machine shop trouble shoot then to see why they are failing. These motors are apparently made in China so draw your own conclusions. RCBS would be wise to find a US manufacturer that makes reliable motors and pay more initially versus purchasing the cheaper Chinese motors they are having to replace. RCBS has been responsive in providing replacements but my experience is their tumble motors are unreliable.
