Product Information

Rainier offers a large selection of swaged lead core copper plated bullets that are low in cost but substantially high in accuracy. Rainier swages their bullets twice with lead wire in an effort to ensure the tightest uniformity as well as prevention of premature wearing of barrels. While Rainier doesn't publish their own reloading information, they recommended using lead bullet load data when loading their bullets as well as a slight taper crimp. Rainier recommends a maximum velocity of 1,500 fps.

These bullets feature a lead core that is completely covered by copper plating. They are resized after being plated with approximately 0.004" of copper plating. This unique design makes them suitable for most indoor ranges, which often require the use of bullets with no exposed lead. The base is slightly concave to maximize the bullet to bore seal.

I've loaded about 1,000 ...

I've loaded about 1,000 of these now with a wide variety of powders and charges, all have worked out just fine. I like the finish on these bullets and they are extremely round and uniform. They are clean and bright, with near-perfect surface finish (looking nearly as sweet as Noslers), and a real pleasure to handle and load. I think they're one of the best deals going for plated bullets.

I have shot these out of ...

I have shot these out of Hi Points, Ruger P-94's, Taurus PT - 100 and 101, and a Witness Classic. Loaded with Power Pistol, this is a formidable load with good to excellent accuracy and manageable recoil. Dropped down a little and less recoil and a very accurate load.

I just reordered a box of ...

I just reordered a box of 500 of these! With a light load of Titegroup in my Glock 22, these have less recoil than 9mm standard loads. They were very accurate, easy to load and shoot. They fed without a hitch. These are a great value and a great product. Very highly recommended!

I'm loading these in front of Titegroup and the results are pretty impressive. They cycle flawlessly in my Glock 23 and group very nicely. I'm still toying around with the loads but will probably start ordering these by the 1000 when I get her dialed in.

Tried these as an ...

Tried these as an alternative to cast bullets for practice in a CZ 75. I was amazed at how well they shot, and the gun was much easier to clean than with cast lead bullets. I had also loaded some 135 gr Noslers with the same charge of Blue Dot and decided to recover some fired bullets in an "unscientific" expansion comparison. I was amazed to find that the expansion of both bullets was almost identical! I will be the first to admit that there was not much "scientific" about this test (firing the rounds into a sandy bank), but I was impressed! I have had no problems with copper flaking thus far, although I have not used these long. I feel they are a great buy for the price. I'll try to shoot a hog with them for more information !

I went to 135 gr bullets in my carry gun so I needed to make up some loads that were close to my carry ammo. I had no problems loading them and they are very accurate.

Have shot 2000 of these ...

Have shot 2000 of these bullets in front of 12gr Blue Dot or 10.5gr 800x (both >1300fps) through my Glock 27 flawlessly. Accuracy is excellent. Here to buy more. Recently tried 1000 Berry's 135grainers and they did not perform as well. Shinier, but less accurate.

For a Sig Sauer 229 ...

For a Sig Sauer 229 pistol, the best results I had with this bullet are: Bullseye, WSP primers, CCI cases (gun range brass), OAL at 1.125, lightly crimped (Lee Factory Crimp Die) using Lee dies and turret press. This combination resulted in little felt recoil, and very tight grouping at 10 yards. Cycling was fine, no miss-fed cartridges, and cleaning the gun was easy, even after 200 or more rounds. I have tried this bullet with Tightgroup and Win 231, with variable results, but the best so far has been the above combination. Keep in mind what may work for this particular pistol may not in others, but they seemed to work well in a Glock with comparable accuracy and feeding. Price is still good anyway, compared to jacketed bullets. Overall, an excellent product for that particular production run, and hope the good quality control Rainier has continues to keep them that way.

These reload clean and ...

These reload clean and shoot clean even at 1100 FPS. As my Kel Tec only seems to like 135 gr loads, I use a lot of these over the Nosler or Sierra for practice. Make a great low end load for the BHP and Glock 23. Will order more.

Wow, tried 5 other 40 cal ...

Wow, tried 5 other 40 cal bullets reloading so far. This little bullet loaded with 9.5 grains of AA-5 was the only bullet to consistently punch through a 3/16" aluminum plate. I am very impressed. No feed problems, very accurate, and very fast in for a .40.
