Product Information

Rainier offers a large selection of swaged lead core copper plated bullets that are low in cost but substantially high in accuracy. Rainier swages their bullets twice with lead wire in an effort to ensure the tightest uniformity as well as prevention of premature wearing of barrels. While Rainier doesn't publish their own reloading information, they recommended using lead bullet load data when loading their bullets as well as a slight taper crimp. Rainier recommends a maximum velocity of 1,500 fps.

These bullets feature a lead core that is completely covered by copper plating. They are resized after being plated with approximately 0.004" of copper plating. This unique design makes them suitable for most indoor ranges, which often require the use of bullets with no exposed lead. The base is slightly concave to maximize the bullet to bore seal.

I have a Les Baer .45 that shoots anything very accurately, except Rainier bullets. Out of 6 rested shots at 25 yds I will get 2 flyers, all day long. Most of their .45 bullets are like this and I believe it's from inconsistencies in the bullets, mainly damage to the base edge before plating. They look pretty rough. I called their customer service, who was very nice and sent me free bullets but the problem remains. On the other hand, I have some Rainier .38 DEWC that look perfect in every way and shoot so. Comparing the two bullets you can't believe they're made by the same company. They are a great solution to leading are as any of the chemically coated bullets. The other big brand, B***y, has a far superior product.

For the price these are good bullets for practice and plinking. I used the round nose seater on the seating die and it seems to help round off the sharp edges of the flat point. Definitely feed better in my pistols this way.

I use these bullets reloading my .45 ACP for target practice and fired over 100 rounds. I find
no problems and accuracy is very good. Also the price is acceptable. I also use this bullet in my
.40 S&W loads. I recomen this bullet to all reloaders.Bill

I use these bullets for plinking/practice and competition matches at a very friendly range. These work great for that purpose.

In both a Colt 1911 and an HK USP I have found them to work well with acceptable accuracy.

Another reviewer mentions that it is important to bell/expand the case before bullet seating and I agree.

I am a bit cautious about lead exposure and these bullets do not expose me to any.

Have burned thru my first box of 500 and am ordering more.

Outstanding quality and ...

Outstanding quality and price. I had no problems with any aspect of reloading or shooting with this bullet. I would advise using your expander prior to the seating process. It makes reloading a breeze and protects the plating. I have had no barrel leading issues after approximately 1000 rounds of usage.

Love these bullets! ...

Love these bullets! Started off with some problems with undercharging, thus a FTE every time (only 5.0gr w231). Followed the Hornady manual's recommendation for jacketed 185gr XTP (6.4-7.2 @ 850-950fps) and have loved them since. Loading 6.5gr W231 with these bullets i get 930fps with tactical XD45 and I love them! Very accurate and cheaper than jacketed. Ranier recommends 5.5-7.7 grns with W231 as well (@750 and 1050fps).

Bought 100 of these to ...

Bought 100 of these to try in my Glock 30SF. They fed perfectly and were quite accurate. No problems whatever with this bullet. Plan on picking up another 1000 of them for target shooting.

I bought 1000 of these a ...

I bought 1000 of these a few months ago and just got around to loading some up. I tried several different combinations and found that Bullseye worked the best of the powders I have on hand. I won't say how much but it was comfortably within recommendations. I worked up slowly. 7 rounds went into a 1/2 inch "4-leaf clover" at 23 paces. That was my best but I got several more groups close to that. I used a Taurus 24/7 Pro L/S. Had one failure to feed and I think that was my fault. I haven't shot more than 100 yet but looks good so far - we'll see if this trend continues.

I love these bullets! Load well, shoot well, cycle reliably, experiment well, and are economical. 1911 Loaded and my Ruger P89 eat 'em up. My errors are the only fault.

I bought 200 bullets to ...

I bought 200 bullets to try out at a USPSA event. These babies fly accurately. And with my loads all on paper 10yds-.50 to 1in groups and 15 to 25yds-1.25 to 2in groups. All this done by XD45 service remember 4in barrel.
