Berger's Target VLD bullets are the perfect bullet for the reloader looking for great performing, consistent, accurate long range bullets. The VLD design gives these bullets the highest possible ballistic coefficient meaning they will be less affected by wind and will typically shoot flatter than flat base bullets of the same weight. Target bullets are designed primarily for target shooting but are also effective on larger varmints. This is not loaded ammunition.

Using these in a Dakota ...

Using these in a Dakota 6BR with a Krieger 1-18" twist stainless barrel. Using Varget powder and CCI 450 primers for 2830 fps. Most groups are in the .3 moa range with some in the .2's and occasionally in the .1's, all at 200 yds. These bullets work best in my rifle.

These bullets perform well in every fast twist 6mm/243 I have. I use 107 Sierra Match Kings also and the Bergers always shoot better. Sometimes just a bit better sometimes much better.

Excellent bullet for the Savage F-Class out to 400 yds at 3050 fps. Lot# 1548. Have not had the chance at extreme range, but does look promising.

I just recently competed ...

I just recently competed in a 600yd match and fired a 2.2 inch group. It fired sub one inch 5 shot groups in 300 yard practice. I did notice a tendency to throw 1 shot out a little bit on each group. By the way I shot an over-all average of 3.1. for 5th. First place used this bullet also.

Have not had the ...

Have not had the opportunity to shoot the thick jackets yet, but they check out very good as far as weight, base to ogive, ogive to boat tail, [bearing length], small meplat, I will probably just load the next batch right out of the box. I have shot the older 105 gr. @ 3400 FPS, some hit the target, some didn't get there. I moly'd the rest and velocity dropped to 3380 with the same load, but no blow ups. I will shoot the new thick jackets within the next two weeks getting two guns ready for the next 600/1000 yard match, probably in Dec. I hope the new thick jackets allow me to get the velocity the gun is capable of while still maintain accuracy. Still just one little switch of the wind and there goes your best plans and dreams of winning at 1000 yds. The bullets check out good!!! It's up to me now. I will report back just how well the bullets performed, and how fast I could push them with no problems. DON'T FORGET!! bullets and race cars, the faster you drive 'em, the more likely you are to WRECK 'em.

Berger 105 VLD 6mm heavy ...

Berger 105 VLD 6mm heavy jacket Lot # 1415 grouped poorly and are not usable for 1000 yard rifle matches. Berger 105 VLD 6mm, lot # 0000591 was some of the best bullets I have seen in about 2 years with groups in the 2s. Lot # 1584 was also very good.
