Not worth it. It's plastic so the extractor/ejector of my sxs ripped the lip off. My BPS would never cycle them correctly.

I recently purchased an Ithaca 12 gauge Defense shotgun from the Ithaca Gun Company, now located in Ohio. I couldn't wait to shoot it the next day, and so I decided to do some snap cap practice firing that night in my house. Well, the Tipton snap cap fired, but it stuck in the chamber, and I couldn't get it out. The next day I called Ithaca, and they advised me that I should use a dowel stick to loosen it up. Fortunately that worked, and now those 2 Tipton snap caps that I had purchased for this shotgun are in the county dump! Stay away from these snap caps!

I just had the rim separate from the base on one of these in my O/U so now shopping for a new pair. I will never buy this brand again.

Nice construction and ...

Nice construction and design, but too short to cycle in a Mossberg 590 (and I suspect a 500) unlike the A-Zoom ones which are longer and work in both my 590 and 500A. I did find some use for these when trying out gear made to hold shotgun shells, and they work great if you're asking someone else to sew some loops on gear for you as you probably wouldn't want to be handing out live ammo. They may also work on other shotguns.

For me, the problem with these Tipton Snap Caps is that they're too short. They're the same length as a 2-1/2 inch shell. They don't go through the action properly in a Benelli SuperNova pump made for 2-3/4, 3, and 3-1/2 inch shells. They would work find in a double gun. I don't know if they will go through the action properly in a semi-auto.

I hastily purchased these without reading these reviews. BIG MISTAKE!!! I would sooner stick rolls of quarters in my shotgun before I put these in there. The snap caps broke the first time I tried to cycle them through the gun. I have a Mossberg 535 and they did not work at all. Buy the aluminum version. I have some made by A-ZOOM and they work great.

Awful. Tried these in my Maverick 88 (Mossberg 500). Worked fine first time. Second time, got STUCK in feed tube....base had been distorded by extractor, and left chips which jammed in tube. Pachymar aluminum snap caps worked fine many times. Will buy those in the future.

Purchased this product based on manufacturers name for quality. I used the snap cap to cushion the firing pin on my home defense Rem 11-87. I was gonna take it to the range for my occational reliability test fire and when I pulled the bolt back the cap came apart and my shotgun was jammed with the plastic piece stuck in the chamber. If I had to use it in a defensive situation, I don't think I would be writing this review. Please excercise caution when using this product in the way that I did.
