I bought the 48" case. ...

I bought the 48" case. OAL is 51". My Win. M-12 is 49" long with a Poly choke, fits perfect with about 1/4" to spare. Balance at handle is very good, it carries level. Very well made case, should last a life time. Canvas cases with batted padding are always my first choice if the right length is available. I store my guns 365 days in these cases, with no rusting of gun metal. They are not water resistant, so don't take out in the rain. Padding is good enough to prevent dings if you don't drop a sledge hammer on the gun.

This is a nice gun case. ...

This is a nice gun case. Not the top of the line, but very nice - and much better than what you typically find in local, mass market sporting goods stores. It's made in China to Boyt/Bob Allen specifications and looks like it should last for many years. It is a special order item through MidwayUSA and cannot be returned, so just make sure you measure the gun or guns you're going to use it with. You won't be disappointed.

Nicely made case. ...

Nicely made case. Everything is great with one exception. The handle location makes it carry barrel down. This seems to afflict ALL gun cases I've bought. This is used on a Rem 1100 LW so it ain't a heavy barrel. They seem to put the handles where they 'look' right rather than testing the cases with a gun in them. Other than that--top notch and not a bad price. Especially compared to a Boyt or Filson of similar style/construction
