No swivel to it.

I installed this on a DPMS AR-15 standard handguard in the very front hole. The part is sturdy and provides a solid fixed sling mount; however the mounting stud is so short that in order to secure it to the handguard the nut has to be tightened to the point it won't swivel freely - really no swivel at all. Overall, a quality part worth the money - but in my experience it is essentially a "fixed" stud.

Out flipping standing!! This is the neatest gadget, reminds me of my military rifle. DON'T add any additional washers....it is designed to swivel hence the name. As was mentioned earlier, use locktight on the nut medium strength.

Have to agree with Steven W. This is easy to install and locks down very well. The problem is that is a bit long on the stud side. It stands off of the free float tube far enough that the bi-pod has to be adjusted to it's very end. I even put some spacing material on my bi-pod to take up the slack. Since there aren't many choices for these I'm stuck with this one and making it work.

I installed this stud mount on my AR-15 free floating tube. The installation was very easy and the stud is completely secure. However; I wanted to use this stud to install a Harris Bi-pod. The stud is too long and I was unable to install a bi-pod onto my AR with this stud mount. I am currently looking for a shorter stud mount!

This swivel stud will work on AR-15 rifles where others won't. It works perfectly on the DPMS "glacier" M4-style "fatty" handguards. A thin washer under the nut will space the stud out enough to tighten solidly. Use locktite when installing.

This is an excellent choice for AR free float tubes - a very solid item that installs rather easily. You may want to measure the thickness of your tube before ordering, as the stud is not very long and thus the item fits thin walled tubes best. It may not fit tubes with 4 way picatinny rails because those tubes are thicker.
