These Pachmayr rubber recoil pads are an excellent choice for taming the felt recoil of plastic or steel buttplates without permanent modifications to the firearm. Installation is as simple as stretching the recoil pad over the buttstock until it is seated. Each pad will increase the length-of-pull by approximately 3/4".

Fitment Information (stock dimensions):

Small: 5" Tall, 1.5" Wide

Absorbs the energy when ...

Absorbs the energy when used on my Remington 700 shooting 150 grain 30-06 bullets. I really like the Midway shooting bag that I ordered at the same time. It's huge.

Reduced recoil ...

Reduced recoil effectively, but the pad tore apart and the unit did not hold up to recoil from 338 Win Mag in a vintage Sako Finnlite that had a non existent pad when i was working up a hunting load for Elk. Disappointed. It worked fine for first year at range under light conditions of use (used to lengthen the action and trigger pull on a 22 for my 6'3" frame.

I picked one of these up ...

I picked one of these up a while back for my shotgun. Initially, after putting it on, I was kind of disappointed as it looked a little ugly to my eye so I took it back off and didn't use it. A few weeks ago my wife and daughter and I went shooting clay pigeons so, knowing they may not like the recoil from my 12 GA I slid it back on. It goes on really easily but it stays in place when on the stock. While shooting that day I was amazed. I normally wear my thick vest while shooting this gun but I found myself shooting it without the vest with no discomfort at all. In fact, I was able to shoot pigeons comfortably most of the day and my wife and daughter were not put off by the recoil. I still think it looks a little ugly but I'm going to leave it in place from now on. I give it 5 stars for functionality and 3 stars for looks. Since functionality is more important I've given it 5 stars.
