I own several of these mags in addition to dozens of other types. I have NEVER had a single misfeed from the TAPCO mags. I like the bases because they are sturdy enough to handle the AR's weight when firing from the prone position. The only complaint I have with the base is that it's bulk makes it a difficult fit in some mag pouches. The complaint of these mags not dropping free is an issue when new but after several cycles they will usually "slick up" enough to drop free. If not, careful use of a bit of 320 grit sandpaper will help as well!! One reviewer said he didn't want his mags to drop free...? If I am in a hot reload situation, once that mag release button is hit, I have 30 more rounds coming in a hurry!! I'm not afraid to clean up a dirty mag that hits the ground or even sacrifice one if it means staying in the fight! TAPCO makes a good, solid mag for a great price- don't be afraid to try these!

2 things I like about this magazine, it's very durable, and the follower is similar to MagPul. Things I don't like, it's definitely not a Pmag, & It is very hard to load past 21 rounds, very hard... Conclusion: I'll stick with my Pmags, I was very disappointed that TAPCO didn't deliver a better Polymer AR mag, but it is better than some of the others out there.

I actually prefer this magazine to PMAG. This is mostly due to the exterior gripping surface. I have had no problems fully loading this magazine. I have also had no issues with dropping the magazine free with a push of the release button.

Fail! Brand new, out of ...

Fail! Brand new, out of the box, jam. Fixed the jam. Double feed. Ended my day fast. Got the gun home and was able to remove the spent casing. Contacted Tapco. They emailed me a shipping label to return the mag to them for a replacement. Got that 1 (eventually... Fedex is sloooow) and it made it to the 21st round before it did the same thing. Now the entire Tapco team is in St. Louis til the 17th of April. I had high hopes for this product but am sorely disappointed. The staff @ Tapco is very friendly and helpful, but that doesnt make my rifle work any better.

I purchased 3 of these ...

I purchased 3 of these because of the price, and I'm thankful I did. They work flawlessly, 30 rounds in each, the mags slide into the weapon like they were greased, all the ammo cycles absolutely perfect. If it were possible to rate it 10 stars out of 5 I'd give them that rating, FAR, FAR better than the original mags we used in our 16s issued by the army.

Bought two of these ...

Bought two of these magazines. The problem with them is when bolt moves back the next round will not tilt up for when the bolt comes forward. This would drive the round straight and would go in to chamber. Mashing the bullets into the case. Will not buy these again.

With the AR-Stoner mags ...

With the AR-Stoner mags out of stock, I bought 2 of these for my PLR-16. Both work great. I hesitated to buy a polymer mag from Tapco b/c of a bad experience almost 20 years ago with one for the SKS. But these seem much better made than that generation of mags.

I am mystified by these ...

I am mystified by these 1-star reviews. I have loaded ammunition from 5 manufacturers as well as handloads from all of them, all in the same magazine. Never had a single problem. My Tapco magazines ALWAYS hold the bolt open after the last round. I have never had a round fall out of the magazine. The magazines do not fall out when the release is pushed, but I don't want them to fall. Seating a full magazine has never been a problem. I want more Tapco magazines. I am using a genuine Colt upper, stainless bolt carrier, stainless bolt and NO forward assist. I lube the rounds VERY lightly with 2-stroke outboard engine oil.

Utterly useless. Magazine ...

Utterly useless. Magazine does not retain ammo; feed lips too flimsy. Mag also doesn't drop, has to be pulled out. Pay the extra few bucks and get yourself a P-mag...
