This 20 round detachable polymer magazine utilizes a steel floorplate for strength and features ergonomic finger groove grips on the magazine body. It is designed primarily for composite stocks, but can be used in rifles with wooden stocks after some minor modifications to the magazine opening. Only insert/remove this magazine with the bolt locked in the rear position. Qualifies as 3 compliance parts under US Sec. 922r. Lifetime factory warranty.

A well-constructed ...

A well-constructed magazine that functions flawlessly and locks the bolt open on the last shot. However, a few caveats that might make this option less than ideal for some users:1. It was NOT a drop in fit with my two Russian SKS rifles AND the Tapco Fusion stock. Considerable shaving of few areas of the magazine, with a knife, had to be done to get the magazine to lock in place. Several spots were making contact with the steel of the rifle and had to be trimmed down for it to work.2) There were NO instructions at all provided with the magazine for dealing with fit issues.3) Stripper clips do not work well with this magazine in place in the rifle. The internal length of the magazine opening - front to back - is absolutely minimum dimensions and after a few rounds are inserted the remainder ride over the front of the magazine and jam up. So if you are intending to "top off" an empty magazine in the rifle by using stripper clips, forget it. Other users have noted this as well.4) The bolt MUST be locked to the rear to insert and remove the magazine. Therefore you cannot easily top-off the rifle if rounds remain in the magazine: holding the bolt to the rear, releasing the magazine catch and rotating the magazine out of the rifle is a three-handed job. As a result you are mostly forced to shooting until empty.

Bought the SKS from a friend. He had an after market magazine in it, but it did not hold back the bolt. This magazine fits perfectly, and holds back the bolt after the last round has been fired.

Great, It fitted right out of the package into my Romanian SKS with no modifications to the stock or magazine. Only compliant is it doesn't seem to always want to feed. We'll see when we get to the range but I have a feeling I'll be buying two more or so in the near future.

Works well in my Norinco SKS, a bit touchy to load, but after that no problems bolt hold back thing is a drag but same with 75 rd drum lots lighter and easier to shoot from shoulder than with 75 rd drum. I think I might get some more of these for zombie apocalypse.

These are outstanding magazines for the SKS. I have a Yugo 59/66 and the 2 tapco magazines I have feed perfectly and lock the bolt back when empty every time! They also make a very secure and comfortable grip for your support hand. Save yourself the trouble and just use these you will not regret it.

I have been a fan of the sks rifle for many years. The only drawback was inferior detatachable mags. Tapco fixed that with this mag! Great product. Bought two and tried them out as soon as they arrived and was completely surprised at the fit and function of this mag. Fit perfect into ATI monticarlo stock. No failure to feed and yes it held the bolt back on empty mag.

Worked great no jams with all 20 rounds through my Yugo SKS. I do however suggest that you take the follower out and sand down some of the rough edges around the top of the magazine, and lube the inside a little bit so it feeds smoothly. Highly recommend to anyone who uses a Tapco stock system! Will purchase a couple more myself :)
