Product Information

TAPCO rail covers perform several useful functions. They add protected gripping surface area to the handguard which not only protects the un-utilized rails but also prevent operator from being cut by sharp Picatinny rails. Rail covers also prevent gear from hanging-up or being cut. Low profile covers are also known as ladder covers, full profile covers are a solid panel.

Excellent rail covers. ...

Excellent rail covers. Best used full lenght or cut in half. The notches on the covers line up better that way. Durable and confortable. I bought 2 packages but one was enough for 2 of my AR-15s with quad rails.

These rail covers do ...

These rail covers do exactly what they're supposed to do: Protect your rails and keep them from snagging on things. They attach quite securely. You get five of them for about the same price as the competitors' one. I don't know about you, but I've always felt that paying that much for a piece of injection-molded plastic seemed pretty ridiculous. Thanks for rectifying that, TAPCO!That said, they aren't perfect. It appears that not much thought was put into butting two of the panels end-to-end for use on a rifle-length rail handguard so that there is continuous and complete rail coverage. There ends up being a space slightly less than the width of one rail groove between the two panels. Thankfully these panels are inexpensive and very easy to cut with a pair of scissors in order to fit them correctly.So there's a little room for improvement, but certainly no deal breaker for the money saved.

This is a first rate ...

This is a first rate product that fits my M&P 15 perfectly, I could move them around to the exact location I needed. They look and feel like I got my money's worth. I couldn't believe my luck when these covers showed up on Midway. I was shopping heavy for covers, most companies offering one cover instead of the 5 TAPCO sells for the same price. I was going to go with a competitor supplier but shipping was more than the product for crying out loud! Get them when they're available.

I ordered this product ...

I ordered this product because of the price for the quantity. I was pleased when I received these covers as they are easy and quick to install. However, I did run into one issue with these covers as the notches did not quite match up with my Picatinny rail mounts and I needed to work the covers a little bit to get a good fit. The covers are also easy to cut with a pair of scissors in order to custom fit them to your specific rail length. The covers also seem durable but I have yet to test that out. I already had a more expensive brand of covers on my M4 and I prefer them to these covers but these still look and function great on my 870. Overall they serve their purpose, look good, and are a good value for the price as a pack of 5 cost the same as 1 of my other covers.
