Solid holster!

I got this for a new Ruger Single-Ten; similar to the Single-Six, and it fit very well. Secures the gun very well while riding my ATV. Found that it also fit my Vaquero as well.

The leather is solid, although *very* stiff! It creaks a lot right now, but I hope it will loosen over time and wear. For the price, a very good and reliable holster.

I've used Hunter holsters for several years, and consider them the best bet for a tough, dependable holster. I've got the M1100-41 for a Ruger Blackhawk and a -40 for a Colt SAA. These are working gun holsters, and get a lot of abuse during ranch duties. The -41, with gun inside, was lost in the pasture for over two years. When accidently found, the holster was still in good condition (considering), as was the stainless Blackhawk. Both are still in service, and have many years of use ahead of them. I highly recommend the M1100, but not the thin, flimsy 45903 models.

This to update my previous review about a poor finish. My conditioner was, unknown to me, incompatible with this leather. Do not use an alcohol containing product on this holster, and you will be fine. Hunter recommends a conditioner intended for saddles and harness leather. They have worked with me and are replacing the holster, although the fault was basically mine. I can still rate this as a very good holster, if treated right, and give Hunter 101% on customer service as well.

I left one good review a couple of days ago, after buying this holster from Midway. Now I have to leave a poor rating because of the finish. I used a leather conditioner, and learned the hard way that this holster has an alcohol base, spray on finish. The finish wiped off!!! I removed as much more of the finish as I could with rubbing alcohol, and hid the damage using neatsfoot oil. The holster still works well, but looks bad. This was my first, and last, Hunter brand holster. I am very disappointed over this waste of money.

Overall, good quality leather and well constructed. I think this holster will do fine for years to come. Great fit on my Single Six after wetting the leather for some slight shaping. I also removed a small crescent of leather to expose my adjustable rear sight and save it from holster wear. Not necessary, just my personal preference.

I have been looking all over to get this holster. I have the same one for another gun, and love it.The snaps are strong, and allow you to remove the holster with out taking the belt off, or vise versa.(putting it on). The shape is molded perfectly so it holds the gun like a perfectly fit glove, no tight spots. Some holsters tend to polish off the blueing on the cylinder and other places, I haven't noticed it using this holster yet. Good job.

I have two of these fine holsters that were purchased at least 25 years ago. One is used for a straight side carry, and the other is used as a cross draw carry. Both holsters are in very good condition for the service they been used for and were a great investment.

This holster is just as advertised, a very good quality leather that fits my Ruger New Model Single Six 5 1/2" barrel perfectly. I have Williams Fire Sights on mine and there is no issue with this holster.More than worth the price!!!!
