Product Information

These revolutionary bullets from Barnes are made of 100% copper and contain no lead. When the bullet expands, four razor-sharp cutting petals are created, allowing the bullet to penetrate farther through tough bone and tissue. These bullets usually retain 100% of their original weight, making them a superb choice for hunting. Barnes recommends initially seating bullets 0.050" off the lands. Best accuracy will be found from 0.030" to 0.070" depending on the rifle. This is not loaded ammunition.

I used this bullet in my 25-06 for a Colorado elk hunt this year. I shot a 800 pnd Cow Elk at 312 yds, she fell dead instantly. The bullet entered through her left front shoulder and penetrated all vitals exiting between her right shoulder and ribs. When we opened her up, her heart and lungs poured out like soup. As far as we could tell, the bullet held together 100 percent. We didn't find any trace of it in the animal, I wish I had found the bullet though. Also, many people state the 115 TSX won't group - well mine did just fine. I used RE-19 and it is shooting sub 2" groups at 200 yards. It is flat shooting as well, my rifle was zeroed for 200 yards., it shoots about 1 1/2" high and 100 yds, and about 2" low at 300 yds. I'll be using this bullet for many hunts to come. I can't say enough about how satisfied I was by it's performance.

I load this in my .257 STW. It is an amazing bullet that will perform very well at velocities greater than 3600fps. The thicker jacket will handle most Mags and have deep penetration. Well worth the extra $5 compared to competitors prices.

These bullets are unbelievable. I saw a buddy shoot an antelope broadside @ 250-265 yards and it totally destroyed it. Exit wound was 5"-6" wound channel obliterating everything after the dime sized entrance wound.He shot a 190lb muley at 340 yards and gut shot him due to high winds (blew the bullet 12"-15" off track) it was not pretty. Finished him off with a neck shot @ 275 yards. Shots were taken with a Weatherby Mark V in 257 Weatherby @ 3400 fps. I will say they definitely expanded, but no bullets were recovered.Personally I think these bullets destroy too much meat, I can't verify group sizes but maybe they are better at .257Roberts velocities.

These shoot MOA out of my Sako A7 25-06, used them to take whitetail out to 300 yards. Shot several pigs and killed two with one shot with bullet exiting both animals.

My husband loaded this bullet for my Ruger ultra light .257 Roberts. It goes just over 2800fps according to the chronograph. It shoots tiny groups so we are surprised to hear others have had problems with this. I shot an elk with it in 2008. My husband ranged it at 291 yards. It took out both lungs and came out the other side. It took a few steps then went down and stayed down. When he dressed it nothing but blood, goo, and chunks came out of the chest.

I shot these out of my .257 WM at 3350 fps. Killed a mature Mule deer and a Cow Elk last year. Full penetration on both, the deer went 50 yds, the Elk went about 200. Exit wounds were very small. Good blood trail on the deer, but none on the Elk. Accuracy was good, about 1.25" for 6 shots. Im considering a softer bullet for this year.

At first I couldn't get a group under 4" with these bullets in my Rem 700CDL in .257WM. I finally hit on a load that repeats with groups of .5oo to .595 with H1000 and C.O.L. 3.160. This is my bullet of choice on deer, and antelope.

Shoot this bullet in 257 Wby Mag with RL22 powder. Load will shoot a ragged hole at 100 yards and is shooting a 2" group at 300ys. Instant kills on Texas Whitetails. Bullet will exit deer with little damage to meat. Bullet can handle the speed of the 257 Wby Mag. Great Bullet and shoots extremely well for me.

I gave these *** because they will not stabilize in my 25-06 (1:10 barrel). I would not rate them this low if they were advertised as requiring a 1:9 twist, which is what Barnes recommends on their website. That said, I've had nothing but outstanding performance from any other TSX I've ever used in different calibers and will stick to the 100's for this rifle.
