This sight has really improved my scores. It is very difficult to install. If you look at the internet you will notice that many people Dremel the old sight off with a cut off (carefully). All sights are shipped slightly over sized, so you need to use a small jewelry triangular file and gently file off a little material to get a very tight fit. File the sight, not the slide. Then take a shop cloth and put the sight in the slide, using a small vise. I use a sawed off drill bit to do this and tap it to center using a small hammer. Measure closely for center. When done, touch up the surface with some cold blue solution. The whole event will take 15 minutes.

I have a HiViz front sight on 3 of my XDs. In the last week, two of them have broken during competition. On both, the break was in the site near the rear pipe support, not the light pipe. This makes the site un-repairable and must be replaced. I can't determine any action on my part that may have caused the break. I finished a stage, re-holstered. When I went to load for the next stage - no sight.

It was great for the first few hundred round till it snapped clean off from the dovetail during a comp. If you don't shoot much it's fine but if you are putting this on a competition gun or you hit the range a lot.... spend the extra money for a better sight.

Just installed this sight on my XDm and waited till the locktight dryed and took it to the range...Shooting my XDm and the sight work great..But after my 6th mag the front part of the insert sight fell out,I was HUH? pick it up pop in back in to the sight and stop shoot...I was ok, how did this happen..Finished shooting and got home to look at the sight..I could not get it to pop out again...Now i'm really dumb founded...Well i clean my XDm and put in the safe...I will shoot it again and if it pop out, I'll be call midway to see if they can send me a new one...(side note) I did not have this issue with either my Alaskan 454 or LCR357.

Hard to beat for the ...

Hard to beat for the price. Have one of these on my XDm set up for limited competition and on a Glock 20. As most have found it was hard to remove the factory XDm sight but I was surprised to find that the HIVIZ replacement went into the sight cut with only finger pressure. I had to bend the base of the sight just slightly to add pressure. I've only shot 50 rounds since installing but it seems solid and was on target. Will definitely look out outfitting my other pistols with HIVIZ sights.

Works as expected. Seems to be holding up pretty well (500+ rounds). I have this sight on two different weapons and I like it on both of them. They do frost a little on the clear protector part so that kept it from 5 stars.

Adding this sight to my XD .357 Sig. greatly improved my ability to shoot steel reactive targets at the gun club. Target acquisition is much quicker as the sight is blazingly bright. Sight picture is instantly sure. Do not attempt install this sight yourself - as I tried to do unsuccessfully. Follow the instructions on the package and have a gunsmith install it.
