The Lee Reloading Bench Plate is the perfect accessory for the reloader looking to quickly change between presses on their reloading bench. The wide steel plate equally distributes loads across the bench or stand adding rigidity to even the lightest bench. The kit comes complete with two wooden base blocks and one metal base plate that is drilled to fit all Lee metallic reloading presses manufactured after 2007, elevator bolt hardware and powder coated steel mounts.

This new little product from Lee is amazing. Super easy to install. Took me about 15 mins because I drilled the other wood plates for my presses to keep the pre-drilled one as a template. Bolted everything down and it is super secure. All you need to do to switch presses is loosen 4 screws and it is ready to go. Works great because I have limited bench space and like to switch between turret and pro 1000 presses depending on caliber I am loading. Thanks again Lee Precision, you have done it again!

GREAT idea. Somewhat ...

GREAT idea. Somewhat flawed execution. The steel base plate itself is rock solid, as are the side locking pieces that hold the wooden blocks in place. Once the block is secured, it will not move anywhere. The reason the execution is flawed, however, is that the wood is flexible enough that if you're using a press that requires a reasonable amount of force on the upstroke, the press WILL move some as the wooden base flexes beneath it. The steel plate underneath it does not flex at all, however. For a single stage or turret press, this is fine. For the Pro 1000 or Loadmaster, this won't do at all, because those presses are very sensitive to movement. They demand rock-solid mounts to function reliably, and the base blocks supplied with this product simply don't cut it in that regard. They need some sort of steel reinforcements to prevent that.

Not worth the money or the time to make this item properly secure your press to the bench. It doesn't secure the mounting blocks well enough and the continually work themselves loose. Simple improvements could make this a very useful addition.

When I first saw this product from Lee, I immediately bought two of them, one for me and one for my friend. I lived at a duplex at the time that had a car port, not a garage, because of that, I could not set up my press to reload. It was too much trouble to put it up and to take it down... With this Lee Bench Plate, I was able to set up and take it down with ease. Another great thing about the Lee bench plate kit is that you can use it for just about any brand press out there. I highly recommend this product to anyone that has multiple reloading presses.

Overall a very good ...

Overall a very good product which securely holds my Turret press and my Challenger single stage press. I didn't waste my time with the wood blocks. To many people didn't care for them. I use the steel plate instead and just ordered another one for my other press. The only reason I gave just four stars and not five, is because the metal brackets which hold the mounting blocks are not tall enough so the bracket sits at an angle. Maybe it is because I am using the steel plate and not the wood? Easily fixed by placing a single washer under the bracket. This gives it the right height to sit flat. I too replaced the provided screws with hex head screws for the mounting bracket. IMO the provided screws are junk. Overall, this was a great purchase on my part!

Not happy with this product. I could not keep my turret press locked down. The brackets that fit over the wood block were not adequate. The block would slip out from the brackets after about 150 cycles of the handle. Not worth the money IMO.

Great product that works ...

Great product that works as intended. I've mounted several presses, including a Dillon Sq. Deal B (my old RL450 is too big for the blocks), two Lee Pro 1000s, a Lyman turret press and an RCBS bullet sizer. Anything that fits on the blocks will work. So far everything has stayed tight. Has really freed up space on my bench. There are no holes in the blocks for dumping spent primers so I'll either have to drill some or periodically dismount my Pro 1000s from the block as spent primers are designed to drop into the base on these presses.

Like several other people I found that the block would come loose during loading. In my case it was after about 60 rounds on my Dillon Square Deal press. I found a simple remedy I replaced the four Philips head screws with Allen head screws and also added a flat washer and a lock washer. Now the block remains secure. I have loaded more than 500 rounds and havent had to reset the block into the frame.

I have no issue with Lee ...

I have no issue with Lee in general, but I feel this product is far better on paper than in practice. There were several issues that I had with the product, but the most aggravating was the narrow lip on top letting loose during normal reloading. It seemed that it would let go about once every 100 rounds loaded on the progressive. After about 1000 rounds loaded, the threaded holes in the plate stripped out from the constant re-tightening. I love the idea, but I feel that a slight design modification would improve the product drastically.
