The Lee Auto-Disk Powder Measure is value packed. Not every reloader using the Auto-Disk powder measure uses Lee dies on their progressive or turret press so Lee created this riser. This Auto-Disk Powder Measure Riser allows reloaders using alternate brands of dies with extended adjusting screws the ability to use the Lee Auto-Disk Powder Measure. When coupled with the Lee Auto Disk Powder Measure this riser holds the powder measure above the extended adjusting screws and out of contact with the Lee Safety Prime System eliminating the chances of the powder measure coming into contact with the safety prime system.

If you use the Lee auto disk dispenser, you need this. I have big hands and have problems installing my Pro Auto disk on the turret mounted dies (particularly on Lee turret presses) especially with tall ones like Hornadys. The dies are too close together to get a good grip on the auto disk mounting ring. With this accessory, the auto disk die mouth is set higher so it's more convenient installing and removing the powder dispenser. Only problem is rust on the body so lightly oil with CLP breakfree. A minor inconvenience. Good accessory!!

I ordered the Lee classic turret press, deluxe carbide 4 die set (handgun), small and large auto prime kit and the pro auto powder measure. Come on Lee, this riser should be included with the powder measure. Stock two skus, one for progressive and one for turret press. Very frustrating to get everything set up to learn that I need this one little part to make it work.

Alternative use Lyman 55 Powder Measure

I ran into a problem loading 380 ACP loads with Hodgdon Tite Group powder in that small amounts (less than 3 grains) are used for their recipes. Neither the Lee standard disks or autodisk would throw consistent charges. I installed the Lee riser onto the top of the Lee expander die and then ordered the 7/8 x 14 adapter, lock ring, and small drop tube from Lyman and mounted it on top of the powder measure riser. The system works and I now can obtain consistent powder charges.

Whey you change dies, or remove a couple of pisto dies to make room for two rifle dies, it's possible to do so easily now. Without this extension, the powderfeed die hits on adjcaent dies and makes changes tough.

Highly recommended to use ...

Highly recommended to use this along with the auto disk powder measure to clear the dies. It requires a bit of cleaing before use and every 1k rounds or so. But I'm using this on pistol rounds so I'm not too worried about having a hundredths of a grain more or less per round. Keep the inside part as dry as you can and lubed on the outside and all well go just fine.

I'm using the Lee Auto-Disk Riser on a Lee Turret press so I can use the Pro Powder measure. But it's still too short to let the powder measure clear the Lee safety prime. I'm ordering a 2nd one & the two screwed together will be tall enough.

I converted the Auto disk on my Loadmaster to spring return and got rid of the chain, raised the powder measure up to make minimal adjustments when needed on the turret so it's out of the way and I'm happy in Reloading Town. Also have one on my Classic turret press to avoid bumping the primer tray with the Powder Disk measure.
