This steel retaining plate is the perfect compliment to a G2 fire control group. This plate locks the hammer and trigger pivot pins in place and the plate itself is held by the selector. Featuring a mil-spec phosphate coating and a finger tab for easy installation and removal.

When I got my AK47, the seller told me that the spring for the trigger and firing pin (also called a paper clip or shepherd's crook) was missing. I finally found that Midway had what looked like a better product, so, I ordered two to have a spare. Disassembling the gun was easy, installing the new Tapco plate was easy, but, because of my unfamiliarity with the best way to reassemble the gun, it was a litle difficult. Finally, I just looked things over, took my time and the gun fell back together. I actually think that this new part is going to be far better than the factory "paper clip. I recommend it.

Installed easy enough but not as simple as the krebs or power custom retainer plates. I did have a problem with my arsenal SLR in that the lip on the top of the plate would hang up on the bolt while cycling so I removed it for a flush fitting power custom plate.

Had to file the bottom of the plate so it would line up on the safety lever hole. It was a Nodak Spud receiver. Once correctly fitted, product works great.

This is a very great product and beats messing with that pesky wire clip all the time. My only complaint is the pins have more play in them opposed to the original clip but this could be due to the firearm specs.

I bought this for my WASR-10 AK47. It worked great except that it didn't line up with the hole for my safety (on top). It was ever so slightly too high. I filed it and it was fine. But there was some work to it.

Retainer plate was put in ...

Retainer plate was put in an AK-74 built from a Bulgarian parts kit, 922R compliance parts from Tapco, and most importantly a Nodak Spud NDS-2 receiver. Unfortunately the middle rivet for the scope rail touched the top of the u shaped hump on the retainer plate. A little work with a round file and the retainer plate layed flat. Works great in tests and hopefully pins don't walk out in rapid fire as they did with retainer spring.

I got this for my Rommy 10/63 and it works as advertised, I did have to do a little filing to get it to fit right, that's why I gave it 4 stars. It does great compared to the shepard hook as some call it , mine looks like an oversized paperclip, the change over took less than 5 minutes including the filing, for the price you can't go wrong.
