Purchased these for my ...

Purchased these for my RIA 1911 to replace the factory grips. The rubber material combined with the checkering creates a very comfortable non-slip grip while not feeling too sticky at the same time. The left panel gives plunger tube support and the right side even has an impression for an ambi safety cutout to assist you in cutting it should you have a Swenson style ambi safety. Overall these are good looking functional and practical grips at a very affordable price.

I would like to say first ...

I would like to say first that I despise rubber grips for the most part. Especially black on black guns. That said I find these grips to be excellent. Since I have quite a few pair (4), and they are all grouped together on one page. I will write my review for all of them.I had a 1911 that had wood grips on it that had taken to sliding around under shooting conditions. I planned on taking the gun to Camp Perry with me this year (2012) and ran through my grip collection trying to find a pair that didn't shift. I was forced to toss on a pair of back double diamonds Hogue rubbers that I had but never used. I actually have two pair now, and tried to fit one of them on a gun before only to have the grip screws stick way up above the grip. Thinking that there was something wrong with the first pair of grips. I contacted Hogue. They shipped me a second pair at no cost so I ended up with two pair.I stuck a pair on my hardball gun and found them to be great. They were grippy and aggressive enough that you got good traction, but not at all tacky feeling. That was one of my major complaints about rubber grips. They tend to be tacky or sticky feeling. Not liking the black on black look. I fired up MidwayUSA when I got back from Perry and looked for them in a different color. I bought a dark tan pair for my harball gun and they look great. They have the same property of the black pair, but in a nicely contrasting color. I also bought a pair of the rubber zombie grips. While I think the whole zombie thing has gotten out of control. These grips have the same feeling as the others, but are just different enough looking to be cool.I am pleased with the product and with the customer service I received from Hogue. It was the bushings that were the problem by the way and not the original pair of black Hogues.

Bought these grips for my Remington 1911R1.The factory grips are very rough and uncomfortable on my hand. The Hogue grips are a perfect fit and very comfortable. I rate them A+++++
