After I first purchased this product, and discovered its very useful qualities, I purchased two for each of the calibers I shoot! The design of the Pro-Shot Tipped Cleaning Jag ensures effective bore cleaning; the longer jag head presses the patch against the lands and grooves across a relatively broad area, and helps push more crud out through the muzzle with each pass. Moreover, the excess patch material (i.e., the corners of a square patch) tuck in behind the jag head preventing bunching and jamming in the bore. The spearpoint holds the patch firmly in place as you bring it into your rifle's chamber and push it up the bore. As you can imagine, this secure hold is very handy if you don't want to be fumbling around picking fallen patches when you are dry-patching your bore prior to shooting, cleaning the bore between strings of shots, or at home. A simple, well-designed tool that makes bore-cleaning more efficient and effective.
