Maybe I got lucky, but ...

Maybe I got lucky, but this scope is very good and much better than expected for the price range.The glass is clear and bright and the parallax seems to be set right. The eye focus adjustment works well. The power adjustment is a little stiff, but not overly so. The illumination on 11 is very bright but did not light up the tube, however at dawn/dust/night who would use this setting anyway. The 1-2 setting was tried out in near dark conditions and did not affect my night vision. This may make a good close range predator scope. I put it on an older 30.06 and it's pretty good for the price, I hope it lasts. It's not my first Tasco and I have not had bad luck with them. I don't feel they are the best but this ones good for a budget scope.Hope this helps. Midway is a great shop and I do come here from time to time. They haven't done me wrong yet.

Fairly good light ...

Fairly good light gathering (better than expected, but less than say $150 scopes but those are the next "step" IMHO)Lighted reticle causes internal "GLOW" at high settings or if used when there isn't enough light in the scope already IE: if you turn it on HIGH at dusk you get a cloudy glow inside the scope.Mounted it on a 308 Stevens (this is a low budget rig) I have about 60 rounds down range with it, and haven't had any issues. With heavier ammo it's shooting MOA.I do find a bit of slop in the turrets, but so far I haven't noticed it affecting adjustments.4 stars for performance in the first 60 days... Would go 5 starts (on price/performance) if there was less cloudiness with the IR and a bit better clarity at high power.
