Hornady has taken their match bullet engineering to the next level. All of their match bullets now feature their AMP (Advanced Manufacturing Process) bullet Jackets. What are AMP bullet jackets? AMP jackets are a technological advancement in design, tooling and manufacturing that when all put together produce the most consistently concentric bullet jackets available. These new jackets have virtually zero tolerance for concentricity and near zero wall thickness variation. When you combine this technology with a precision swaged lead core and the tightest standards in the industry you get a match bullet that will flat out shoot! This is not loaded ammunition.

I bought these bullets ...

I bought these bullets for bench rest shooting. The price was very attractive. Results from them were not that impressive. I used them in my HS Precision HTR bolt action rifle, chambered in .308 Win., which has produced 3-shot, ONE HOLE groups @ 100 yards with Sierra MK's and Lapua Scenar 167g. pushed with IMR 4064. What I determined was, within a box of 100 bullets, individual bullet weights deviated too much(167.5 to 168.8). Not good for "one hole" accuracy potential, UNLESS, you weigh all the bullets and group "like" weights together before seating. I actually achieved better groups with the Hornady A-MAX bullet, 168 gr. But they cost a little more. Guess you get what you pay for. So for the budget shooter, these will suffice. Shoot straight. Have FUN. Be SAFE.

I have tried many different weight, brand, and loads in my 700 Remington. I have set it up and use it entirely for target shooting. This bullet gives me superior performance out of my gun with 1 MOA at 200 yards. Nothing else has matched this performance.

I only use these bullets ...

I only use these bullets in my Remington 740 in 30-06 it's an old gun that all I could get were "patterns" out of rather than groups. I was told by several gunsmiths that I wouldn't get a decent group out of this gun I'd be lucky to get 3MOA out of it. I switched to these bullets and IMR4064 this combo dropped the groups to under an inch, it almost brought tears to my eyes. I took it hunting for feral hogs and was only offered a butt shot on a pig the bullet broke the left femur and travelled another 18" before it clipped the spinal column. The Hog did not take a step. I wont use another bullet in that gun.

Ran a few of these ...

Ran a few of these through a Remington 700. At 100 yards, groups were .525 and .685". Very happy with the performance.

I shoot these in my ...

I shoot these in my Remington 700 ADL .308 Winchester and they are an amazing bullet for target shooting! They outperformed 168gr. A-max and 168 gr. Nosler ballistic Tips. They are not a hunting bullet. I recovered some from the dirt mound backstop at the range and found that many times the core separated from the jacket. Overall great bullets for target shooting!!

These bullets are great. Inexpensive too, especially for what you get. They measure within about .3 grain consistently, or at least the last box I checked did. And I can shoot 1.25" groups with them from my bone-stock Weatherby Vanguard .308. I use AA 2520. I'm sure the groups could be even smaller but I am not that good a shot LOL. Give these a try.

All I can say is if you have not tried these give them a try! They consistently out shoot Sierra 168's in my FN SPRY 308. Sierra's are a little more consistent in weight, but the longer flat sides of these bullets seem to aid to there accuracy. Just like one of the reasons why the 6.5 Swede shoots so well. Just my theory. But like I said give them a try! Only down fall, is the price of these is rising to almost the same as the Sierra offering. When they were at one time almost $7 less.

I use these bullet's (168 grain hollow point boat tail match) in both a Mossberg 100ATR in 30-06 and a savage model 10 hunting rifle in 308 win. go to the range and shoot the savage and no surprise here 1/2 MOA groups but what really gets jaws dropping is when I shoot the cheap Mossberg and get 3/4 MOA groups and ring steel out to 500 yards!

This molly bullet is excellent out to 1000 yds out of my AR 30 in 300 win mag. IMR4831 with OAL of 3.41. consistent 1/2 MOL bullet. Best 3 shop group was 1.125 @ 300 yds.

The Hornady 168 hpbt was ...

The Hornady 168 hpbt was my first try at reloading 308 ammo. I have reloaded hundreds of 223 and 45 ammo. I shot about 120 rounds of Winchester ammo and was getting about 1 1/4 inch groups @ 100 yards. Tried 5 of the hornady reloads and shot a 1/2 inch group. I was really surprised so I tried another 5 rounds and could cover them all with a dime. I am really happy with the hornady match bullets. I will definitely be buying more of these. Good price too.

This bullet sets the benchmark for the level of accuracy I want to achieve. I had been shooting HXP Greek Surplus ammo from CMP by the spam can. It is good clean ammo and I need the cases for reloading. They produce decent groups of about 2 1/2 inches at 100 yds and always go bang. Now that I had some cases I got some of these bullets and loaded over 4064 they produced groups of less than an inch at 100 yds and 6 inch groups at 300 yds. Good enough to hit the 440 yd gong every time at my range.
