An excellent match bullet for the money. My wife and I shoot this bullet in our .243 Win(s) with near max loads of RE 22 for about 3000 fps. Both rifles have 1-8 twists. My wife frequently outshoots me and other big guys with our .30 mags up to 600 yds with this bullet. This possibly makes the little .243 the best bang for your buck. Expansion on distant varmints is erratic.

I tried a box of these through my Winchester Model 70 Coyote, with a 24" 1-10 twist barrel. I was not able to stabilize the bullets to deliver anything better than 4 to 5 inch groups at 100 yards. At 200 yards the groups would not stay on a standard piece of 8.5 x 11 paper. loads were moderate to past what the book lists as max so velocity didn't help. You'll need a faster twist to use these bullets. I picked three stars because there isn't a provision for "no rating". I can't say they're no good because they're intended for faster twist barrels than mine.

Target shooting. 6mm Remington 700 BDL, older rifle, works great after a few adjustments. I had to choose a bullet with the best performance at long ranges with little wind drift effects. I usually stick to my old favorite, Sierra HPBT MK. However, these were on sale at that time and were the heaviest for the 1 in 9 rate of twist I have on the barrel (also highest BC for the category). After adjusting for load and OAL, they worked great, and I will stick to those for heavier loads. On a 9 inch paper plate; 1/4 - 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards, and this is not even a bull barrel. Photo shows one off to the side, when a 338 Lapua went off on the bench nearby and caused a little flinch on my side. This is a 4 shot string.

AMAZING bullet in my ...

AMAZING bullet in my Remington 700 .243. I was hoping these bullets would stabilize and they do great. I used IMR4895 and they seem to want to go into the same hole at 100yds. I just shot a 1.25 inch group at 300 yards yesterday. My gun and I really like this bullet.

I have a savage 12LRP 26" ...

I have a savage 12LRP 26" barrel with 1-9.25" twist chambered in .243. The 105gr. A-max produced .2" three shot group at 100yrds. I use IMR 4350, Winchester brass, Fed. 210 primers, and a COAL. 2.740".

These bullets work great ...

These bullets work great for deer. With my .243 I get consistent inch groups using varget and federal 210M primers. The first deer I shot was a big buck at about 80 yards, when I open him up there were jellied lungs and only half a heart. The second was a doe at 100 yds, there wasn't a piece of lung left bigger than a fist. These bullets literally BLOW up and i've never found nothing more than fragments of the jacket. Also have never had a coyote get up after a shot from an a max bullet.

Good accuracy out of a ...

Good accuracy out of a Savage 110 in 243. 1 inch or less 3 shot groups at 100 yds. Using IMR 4350 or N150. Very impressed with expansion/ shock/knock down on SC white tail deer 85 to 165lbs -most did not move or less than 50 yds. before they went down. Usually had large exit wound.

I am using them in a 8 twist Krieger barreled savage striker in 6 BRX. running them just over 2700 FPS.amazing accuracy and performance on game for a non-hunting bullet. took a high shoulder shot on a doe whitetail this week at 240 yards. full penetration with expansion.

From a 31" Krieger barrel ...

From a 31" Krieger barrel with 1-8" twist attached to a Rem 700 action, these have been a joy to shoot. I am new to reloading but even my novice skills have been able to produce groups in the .2s using H4350, Hornady Brass, CCI LR Primers, and an OAL of 2.750". I am quickly becoming a Hornady fan. The price and performance are hard to argue with. The terminal performance with be the final aspect to test this fall. Plan to see how it performs on deer and hogs. I expect the 105gr A-Max to handle deer just fine.

Very poor accuracy. 0nly ...

Very poor accuracy. 0nly one bullet out of 100 weighed 105 gr. Separated bullets into 10+ groups ranging from 106.2 to 104.8. I was never able to group small than 1.75 " @ 100 yds . I will stick with tried and true Sierras next time.

These are excellent ...

These are excellent bullets and my number one choice in my Rem 700 H/B Varmint rifle.They loose stars however because they are nearly impossible to find anymore! If Hornady would get back on the ball and make them readily available like other manufactures do they would be my first choice in both of my .243 but since they are so hard to acquire anymore I have started using SMK 107gr & Berger 105VLD bullets in there place with excellent results from both of them in both of my .243'sHopefully Hornady will start producing more of these in the near future and I can once again make them my #1 choice! Till then it's 107gr Sierra Match Kings for Target use and Berger 105 VLD's for Varmint use for me! RemMax
