The next generation of FastFire Red-Dot is here with the introduction of the FastFire III. The popular FastFire II is even better with upgraded features that include a top mounted battery ((1) CR1632 or (2) CR2016) for easier battery replacement, upgraded windage and elevation adjustments and a power button that provides three manual brightness settings and an automatic brightness setting with low battery indicator. For added versatility, the FastFire III comes in a 3 MOA or 8 MOA dot and includes a protective cover and battery. Just like the rugged FastFire II, the FastFire III features a Steel body construction for extreme durability and is 100% waterproof. I have a Burris fastfire II as well. I have been very pleased with it, but hate that you must remount it after changing the battery. The III fixes that and gives you more options on the dot brightness. I am not aware of another sight of comparable quality and usefulness for under $400. If you want a good quality micro red dot, get one of these.

I gave this product 5 stars for a couple of reasons. I also have the FastFire II and you have to unmount the sight to change the battery, where the FastFire III you can replace the battery from the top without having to dial it in again after remounting it. That is a big plus! It comes with 4 settings but in my opinion all you need is the auto setting which automatically senses the ambient light to give you the right brightness. It is 100% waterproof. It also comes with a cool cover. I have two of the FastFire III sights and I mounted one on my Ruger 10/22 and the other on my Ruger Ranch Rifle with the GG&G mount. I couldn't be happier with this sight.

I have a fastfire-II, which is a decent product, but I was unhappy with the hassle of adjusting windage and elevation, plus the dot brightness was too high under subdued light, which tended to make the dot look like a starburst.The new Fastfire-III solves all those complaints, plus it allows battery changing without dismounting the sight from the gun. The brightness of the very round dot is well controlled using the auto setting, plus the 3 manual modes allow specific user control. The windage and elevation dials have click detents, which you can feel, but not quite hear. The dials around the controls give you a reference, and I have found the settings to be easily repeatable and consistent. The on-off/level adjustment switch has tactile feedback and is positive to adjust. There is almost no distortion when looking through the sight window, and the white stripe on the back of the unit makes it easier to find the red dot for quick alignment.I have two of these units, and have mounted them on a .22 Marvel Unit 1 conversion (Weaver rail mount) and on a Kimber Target-II 1911, using a BOMAR-type Burris sight mount. On both guns, the sights performed flawlessly.At just under $240, these units aren't cheap, but they perform as well as, or better than the $500+ MRDS and the unavailable Docter units. They put all other miniature red dots to shame, in my opinion. Burris did a great job on these. They are very well made and completely worth the price.

I just got mine today and mounted it on my 22/45. So far, I am extremely pleased. Holds zero so far, crisp dot, auto brightness seems to work well. I wanted something as an alternative to my 10/22 to pop varmints with under 100 yards while out doing chores and this will make for a small, handy package.
