The item pictured was ...

The item pictured was available several years ago. I have one and it is well made. It is one piece welded heavy steel. I ordered another one. It is not the cone in the picture. What I got was a flimsy piece of junk. It required assembly and the parts didn't fit together very well. I have fired about 40 shots in it. The paint is coming off and it is dented. It does not compare to the older one which was well made. See the more current ratings. The older ratings are probably based on the earlier version

Used this with a Benjamin ...

Used this with a Benjamin PCP .22. Got severe denting and deformation on the sides and penetration in the center. Heavy Pellets really took a toll. This might be good for velocities below 600 fps, but the material needs to be twice as thick IMO if it is to survive PCP velocities. I do like the targets it comes with however.

I have been using this ...

I have been using this trap for quite some time and find it to be very compact and handy for indoor range shooting. You mount it by hanging it on a single sheet metal screw that is attached to a backstop. It is very essential that the screw be as tight to the backstop as possible as the impact of pellets will cause the trap to move and pivot your group to the left or right.A negative is that pellets tend to collect toward the front of the trap behind the target instead of in the well that is at the far back. When you remove the target, the pellets fall out the front of the trap onto the floor. This is a little inconvenient but not much more than the bits of paper that the wadcutter pellets punch out of the targets -- they end up on the floor, too.Gamo targets are a perfect fit for this trap. Made of tagboard (a type of card stock), they are excellent for shooters who are interested in group size and accuracy.

Excellent little trap. ...

Excellent little trap. Have had a little BB jump out, but have not had a problem as they are spent. Use it in the basement with both pellets and BB's and will find a BB or 2 on the floor right under the trap. I like the target retention system, just slide a new target into place. Overall a well built trap that has been fun to use.

Well constructed and ...

Well constructed and handled 1,000 fps air rifle shots with no problems. I have accidentally shot the rim that holds the target and only slightly dented it. When fired at from 10 yards or less, I tended to get pellet splatter through the backside of the target when using a 1,000fps air rifle.Overall, "real handy".

Pellet trap is well built ...

Pellet trap is well built and sturdy. I hung mine up in my garage wall where I shoot 6 1/2 yards, mostly with my pistol. It works great, and I have not had a single pellet come back at me. One minor negative is that a few pellets came out of the open top of the trap, but without much energy left. I just closed the top with a piece of foam, which I remove to empty the trap. Overall, I highly recommend this product, especially for short range.

For my stepson's ...

For my stepson's Christmas, I bought a pellet gun, this and Gamo targets. I built a 10-meter range in the basement. Before we used up the second box of targets the back of the trap was shot out. I'm not saying dented ... I mean penetrated and shot out. We have since taped the targets to boxes filled vertically with newspapers.
