This mounting plate is easy to install and made a nice sling attachment point on the side of my 870, in it's original configuration (20" barrel / factory mag extension). However, once I installed a new MOE forearm on the shotgun (to allow a rail mounted light), the pump would no longer cycle all the way forward and lock. Apparently the MOE stock protrudes 1/4" further forward than the Remington stock, while the mounting plate sit's flush with the original stock. Most of this issue falls at the feet of the MOE design, but it is important to note that the Scattergun design does not play well with some forearms. Now I need to decide which I'd rather have.

Please note that this attaches to the magazine tube, not the receiver, as mentioned in a previous review. I thought that was pretty clear so disregard that review altogether. It works great, the price is right, and the finish is perfect

I purchased this item for my new Remington 870 Express Tactical. This item didn't even come close to fitting correctly, and I'm currently working on having it returned. The only thing I can think of is that the portion of the gun where the stock meets the receiver must be smaller or shaped a little differently on the Express models of the 870. In any event, I'm shopping for a replacement.

Nice mount here. It installed in 5 minutes and its there to stay.My 870 had the barrel mounted check ball unlike the previous reviewer and went on smooth.Buy with confidence, you won't be disappointed.

Nice product. I would give it five stars but for a few things. One, you must knock the check ball out for this to work with newer Remington shotguns that do not use the barrel mounted check ball to retain the magazine cap. Not that this is a big deal, but it should be stated that this needs to be done in the description, and the instillation directions. Other than this oversight it is a great product!
