I found this product to be slightly long to the point that the barrel bushing would not clear it. Granted, it could be ground down and re-blued, but with so many other guide rods on the market that are a drop in fit I would rather have one that does not require modification.

I had the same problem as ...

I had the same problem as the other user. This guide rod is a touch too long to fit the bushing over it. I went with another one and I am much happier. It's a shame that STI sells such a nice gun and the guide doesn't fit.

Got this guide rod and ...

Got this guide rod and plug for my Auto Ordnance. Works great! It is a little too long, but follow the instructions for the EGW 1 piece guide rod then reverse to install. Its like taking the slide off a S&W. It works great on all my 1911s. I will buy more.
