Product Information

This magazine features a body made from .027" aircraft grade certified 17-7 PH stainless steel and is heat-treated for maximum durability and service life. The magazine spring is specially fabricated from high tensile strength wire for enhanced feeding and is able to remain fully loaded for long periods of time without damage. Features a fiber-filled nylon self-lubricating follower and removable base pad.

Technical Information:

Both sides of the tube have witness slots

Follower has an extended skirt to minimize creep from the tube when the magazine is empty

Base pad is designed to provide a sure grip when pulling the magazine from a pouch

Notes on Selecting the Correct 1911 Magazine:

If the grips on your 1911 measure 4" long, you have a Government/Commander length grip

If the grips on your 1911 measure 3-1/2" long, you have an Officer/Defender length grip

I bought 6 of these for IPSC/USPSA Limited 10 competition, to run in my Kimber. I had previously been running Wilson 47D's, and never had a problem with them. Not so with the 10-rounders. The feed lips on these mags are softer, and less formed than the Wilson 47-D mags. Consequently, cartridges would occasionally become wedged in the (soft) feed lips (notably during vigorous mag seating, but also occurring during routine cycling). Wedged cartridges caused failure to return to battery. I switched back to the 8-round magazines and the pistol runs 100%. I returned to Midway for exchange on more 8-round Wilson mags, and they are all flawless. Once I get up the courage, I will try the McCormick 10-rounders and see if they are any better. If reliability is important to you, then don't waste your time with anything other than Wilson 47-D 8-rounders.

I purchased a pair of these to try out and use with my USPSA competition gear. I have used these with my following guns:1. Dan Wesson Valor2. Nighthawk Custom Dominator.They have worked very well on these models.I recently purchased a new Les Baer Premier II Supertac model, and these magazines do not fit. When I first tried these mags at the range, the mag just slipped and dropped right out of the gun, and caused a mis-feed.When measured, the stopper is about .001-.002" too short for the mag to reach the mag release in my gun.I checked out the LB with a regular 8-Rnd Wilson Combat mag, and it fit just fine and seated into the receiver.

Just wanted to follow-up ...

Just wanted to follow-up on my initial review.Here's the deal: I spoke directly to the folks at Wilson Combat, and they told me that extensive research had been done on plated and FMJ SWC's...and they were THE WORST rounds for their magazines. They specifically told me not to use those bullets through their magazines. They also mentioned that the LEAD SWC's work well with their magazines, which many other shooters verified as well. It seems that the lead SWC's are softer, so they will conform to the shape needed when getting fed from the magazine to the chamber. But since the plated or FMJ'd SWC are harder, they do not conform, but get stuck in a 45-degree angle when getting fed from the magazine to the chamber. Bottom line, it WAS NOT their magazines - but the combination of their magazines AND the plated SWC bullets together. I ended-up changing bullets. I now shoot 200-grain RN Rainier Ballistic bullets at a COL of 1.242"...and all is good. By the way, the 10-round magazines have very stuff springs, so I always cut off a coil or two from the springs. In Christ: Raymond

I have two of these ...

I have two of these Wilson 10 round magazines and the only problem I've found is failure to lock slide back on last round. I have several other mags including Wilson 8 round versions, but these two 10 rounders are the only ones I've had that problem with.

I own many of the Wilson ...

I own many of the Wilson Combat 8-round ETM'S...and I will rest my life on them. But shooting Limited-10 in USPSA matches, I needed the higher round capacity - hence I purchased 4 of these 10-rounders. BAD JU-JU! During a large Level 3 match (Bay Area Golden Bullet), I was destroyed by jams, FTF's, and double feeds. At first I thought it was my bullets. (200-grain Rainier Ballistic SWC @ COL OF 1.250"). But upon further inspection, all the bullets seated in the mags had almost no tilt/angle to them. This caused them to feed parallel to the barrel, or downward - and jammed within the magazine. And when I racked the pistol 2 or 3 times to get the bullet chambered, it would just seat the bullet deeper and deeper into its casing. (Dangerous)! Don't know the solution yet, but I felt it was important enough to mention here.

I shoot 2"x4" cutting ...

I shoot 2"x4" cutting matches that require several fast mag changes and lots of rounds. I use these mags with my Springfield Longslide and have lent them to other shooters. The mags have functioned flawlessly in my gun and in all others.

Bought one of these mags ...

Bought one of these mags because my Chip McCormick mags were jamming hollow points. My gun was brand new and the feed ramp was not worked in yet. This magazine works in spite of that fact. I think that these are probably some of the most reliable mags out there. Highly recommend.
