I selected the E-tip ...

I selected the E-tip after deciding I wanted to try a lead-free bullet and living in California, it is an unfortunate requirement in some areas. I'd had fantastic accuracy with the Ballistic Tip by Nosler, so I loaded these up for my 270 Win. Nosler recommends a slightly lower charge, however, for these. I haven't chronographed them yet, but point of impact did not charge at 100 yards from my NBT loads and accuracy was sub 1 MOA, maybe 3/4. I shot four antelope last year at about 200 yards each; one with a Barnes TTSX, one with a NBT and two with the E-Tip. All died quickly, but the E-Tip dropped them instantly. The NBT created a huge sized exit would, but that one actually ran a little ways, then piled up. I will probably use these on CA black tail in the fall. I think the bullet is probably durable enough for elk within reasonable ranges, but I'd like to see a 150 grain version, just for insurance. My buddy actually took my rifle and E-tip loads to Wyoming and dropped a large cow elk. It didn't go far and was very dead. They are longer than the BTs, but have a very high BC. These are my favs for my 270.

I make my own loads and I ...

I make my own loads and I am trying to do my part in using ammo that is environment friendly, so I tried the Nosler E-tip. I ended up using a medium load for the best results, accuracy was quite adequate, from a bench rest I could obtain 3/4 in 5 shot groups. I used a Remington model 700 XCR with the barrel lapped and the actions been bedded. Quite happy with the results so far. I would recommend any reloader try this ammo, I think that you will like it and as I was be surprised at the results.

I bought these bullets ...

I bought these bullets because I wanted to develop a lead-free load, and I was having problems getting good groups with the Barnes bullets in my Tikka T3. I wanted to try Nosler because their other bullets have shot well for me. The E-Tip was no exception. I have experienced great accuracy with these. I have not had an opportunity to use this bullet on game, and I will have to update my review when I do. The bullet is long for its weight, so I reduce my powder charge accordingly. The 130 grain E-Tip is about the same length as a 140 grain Accu-bond. I was pleased to find that Sub-MOA groups are common with this bullet. If it performs on game it will be my primary bullet for my 270WIN.
