The LaserLyte Rear Sight Laser is a new laser design which has the laser integrated into the rear sight. The sight is easy-to-install as you do not have to alter any internal parts or the grips as you do with many other laser designs. The Rear Sight Laser fits all Springfield XD and XDm models and is constructed of steel for high durability. Includes four #377 batteries (commonly used watch batteries) which provide up to 1 hour of runtime when constantly on, or 2 hours if used in pulse mode. Will also fit Sig Sauer Models 225, 226, 228, 239 & 2009.

I have been looking for a laser sight for my Springfield XD service pistol for several years. A main requirement was that the laser sight not interfere with carrying my XD in a holster. I saw an ad for the LaserLyte and when it became available for the XD I purchased one from Midway. The unit I recieved had a mechanical problem so I called LaserLyte customer support. They were very supportive and resolved the problem by sending a replacement. The people at LaserLyte I came into contact with were very professional and considerate. The excellent rating I gave was not just for the product but also for the customer service I received. I wish all of the companies I deal with provided that level of service. I will be purchasing a second LaserLyte sight for my Glock.

I bought two LaserLytes, ...

I bought two LaserLytes, one for a Glock-17, the second for a Springfield XD-45. Prior to buying, I contacted LaserLyte to ask about problems that existed. LaserLyte would admit nothing which was disappointing. The first complaint was about the laser coming on in the holster and depleting the batteries. I suspect this problem came from holsters with a retaining strap over the rear of the slide that inadvertently turned on the laser. The second problem was the poor sighting in mechanism. The buyer must be lucky to put the beam on target, recommend 15 yards, the first time by turning the adjustment screws clockwise. I was lucky with the Glock, but needed to manipulate for the XD. The sight would not adjust counter-clockwise. I returned the sight to Midway and promptly received a replacement. Same problem. I contacted LaserLyte regarding the embarrassment of returning a second sight to Midway and received this solution: Back out the adjustment screws until they are exposed about a sixteenth of an inch and shut the laser down. Apparently, this resets the adjustment. This procedure worked, and I was able to sight-in the laser beam. Others object to having to push the on/off button so many times to turn on, once for a solid beam, twice for a pulsing beam, and thrice to shut off. Personally, I don't have a problem with this. It all takes practice. Lastly, LaserLyte and other retailers sell the sights for $200. Midway sells the sights for $150.

I put this sight on my ...

I put this sight on my XDm 3.8 9mm several months ago. At first I was very happy with it, now it is falling apart. The white bar on the back side has fallen off and the back panel was coming off as well. The laser no longer turns on with any consistency. This junk is going in the garbage as soon as my HIVIZ sight gets here. Do not waste your money like I did mine. In the future I will stay with Crimson Trace products.

Not so easy to install. I ...

Not so easy to install. I bent the brass punch removing the old sight. Once in, it worked great in low light conditions. In direct sunlight the laser is impossible to see. The open sights are just as good as the original. Fits my holster without any alterations.

These things are a piece ...

These things are a piece of junk, I had a professional gunsmith sight them in and still they are not accurate. The battery door keeps coming unscrewed from the recoil of my Springfield XD 40. I shoot worse with these and will now be putting night sights on it instead of these.

The Laserlyte rear sight ...

The Laserlyte rear sight is all I expected. Works great, looks great, good size, easy to sight, fits my old holster, no problems.Only downfall - much more than anticipated to install it on my XD45 Compact. I couldn't get the old night sight off, took it to a gunsmith friend and it took him 30+ minutes to get it off; 3 minutes to put the Laserlyte on. Overall well pleased.

Great product. I have put about 300 rounds through my XD40 sub-compact and the laserlyte is still dead center. Was easy to install but the brass punch was a bit weak getting the factory sights out (bent it).

I like the Laserlyte ...

I like the Laserlyte system,the only problem I saw was the brass punch they send with it is not strong enough to remove the rear sight on the XDM, it is really tight. When I tried it, it bent so I found a piece of brass rod 1/2" in diameter in my tool chest and ground it down to the size of the OEM sight base and tapped on it while in a vise and it finally came out. It was easy to adjust the Laserlyte too.
