This product is a heavy crystalline coating which enables the surface to absorb oils or spray-on/bake-on finishes. Zinc Phosphate is especially suited as an undercoating for LCW DuraCoat Firearm Finishes or LCW Post Treatment Solution. This dull "non-glare" gray coating is perfect for tactical and hunting guns. Also Zinc Phosphate is excellent for restoring old military arms. Just degrease, blast, and immerse your parts in the phosphate solution. Then oil or coat with your favorite spray-on finish.

Technical Information

Process:

Clean and degrease all parts thoroughly

Fill heating tank with 4 parts clean water and 1 part parkerizing solution

Heat solution in heating tank to 170-185°

Condition solution by immersing 1 pad of course steel wool in heated solution for 30 minutes

Immerse parts in heated solution for 5-15 minutes

Add clean water as evaporation takes place

Immerse parts in post-treatment solution, or apply spray-on finish

Notes:

Zinc Phosphate is especially suited as an undercoating for DuraCoat.

This parkerizing solution creates a heavy crystalline coating which enables the surface to absorb oils or spray-on/bake-on finishes.

This is a great product that gave professional results (even without sand blasting). The instructions are simple to follow and the more important step is to make sure the metal is clean! I am very happy and will order again, but I think this should last for years.

This is absolutely a wonderful product.. Follow the easy directions and you can't mess it up. I've used this with the black dip and I've done zinc with duracoat afterwards and the results as good if not better then factory results. I use the wheeler hot blue tanks even though its mild steel..

Very good product, and very forgiving. This is a weak acid, and requires low temperature, so it is pretty safe. Degreasing is the most important step.

This stuff is very easy to use. The hardest part is getting a tank to do it in. I just built one out of mild steel and it worked excellent. This stuff is very forgiving, just make sure you plug the barrel! I parkerized a rifle and then painted it with duracoat and it turned out awesome!

I had no idea that the average person could get a Parkerized finish on his own weapons and tools so easily and inexpensively. This product is great.

Easy to use with ...

Easy to use with professional results. Just follow the instructions. Make sure all your items are clean, clean, and more clean. I typically boil my parts in a TSP solution prior to bead blasting. Then wipe down with acetone before parkerizing. The results are outstanding.
