The Hornady Lock-N-Load AP Progressive Press Shellplate makes changing calibers a breeze on your Hornady Lock-N-Load Press and the older Hornady Projector Press. There is a shellplate available to fit almost every caliber. The shellplate numbers correspond with the Hornady shellholder numbers for different calibers. These shellplates are designed to work with the EZ-Ject System and Pro-Jector presses.

UPDATE to my previous ...

UPDATE to my previous review. Well I guess I made a monkey of myself here! :-)In my previous review I had listed that this Shell Plate did not fit the .45ACP but fit the .455 Webley instead. WELL..... It turns out it does fit the .45acp also! The confusion came to me when I tried to load .45acps with it and my shell would not fit in it. I checked in my Hornady Reloader Manual I just bought a month ago and it says this Plate only fits the .455 Webley, BUT... I later looked in the other Hornady books including the owners manual that came with my L-N-L AP Press and there 2010 product manual and those both showed this Shell Plate Does fit the .45 ACP! SO.... I finally called Hornady Tech Support where I got the usual wonderful service and help and found out from them that it does indeed fit the .45acp and that the problem I was having with mine was not with the Plate but with the Retainer Spring that goes around the Plate to hold the Shell in place while it's being moved around the Ram. They sent me a new Spring and I cleaned up the groove it drops into when it comes to the #1 position and since then I can now load my .45acp shells quite easily.SO... If you find your having trouble getting your .45's to fit into this plate be sure to make sure your spring does not have any kinks in it and that it is able to drop freely and easily into the groove below the Plate when it comes to the #1 position, This and a bit of Lube on it and you'll be loading .45's in no time at all and enjoying your press like you should be able to do. I purchased this base ...

I purchased this base plate because the standard base plate used for all other cartridges with the same case base diameter (such as the .308 Win and .30-06) caused the .45 ACP to hang up on the shell eject wire, thus slowing down production. This base plate is designed specifically for the .45 ACP and solves that problem, allowing me to maximize throughput with the progressive press.

I purchased the Hornady ...

I purchased the Hornady Lock-N-Load AP Progressive Press with Shellplate #45. I found the press easy to setup. I have installed the Hornady die set for .45 ACP and am using a separate Lee FCD (seem to get better results then Hornady crimp die). So far, I'm completely happy with purchase.
