This lightweight steel base features an aluminum stem and a quick release thumb screw. When folded the aperture is only .840" high. Comes with a standard rear peep, features 1/2 MOA and the steel base will mount to any Picatinny-style rail.

YHM makes great gear for the AR15. The flip up rear site is equal in quality to the GG&G for less money and went right on right out of the box. Would recommend it to anyone who has a need for this type of product. Have not tried it with a 'standard' AR front sight so can't speak to that.

I am not sure how long I have owned this BUIS, but it has been longer than 3 years. The one I own secures to the rail by two Allen screws. When I returned from A-stan I had a catastrophic failure of the spring loaded locking button, which locks the sight in up or down configuration. I could not press down the locking button with my finger. I eventually used the butt of a knife to press down on the button and when it did go down, the spring would no longer push it back up to lock it. In fact I could not get the button back up even with trying to pry it up with various tools. As a typical Joe, I tried to disassemble the sight to gain access to that spring. It appears to be a sealed unit and you will do yourself no favors by taking off the sight apertures. It has served me well up until this point, but I did not anticipate having to replace it without a significant damaging event occurring. I will probably try another option without a spring loaded locking button.The conditions this sight were exposed to:My weapon is usually secured year round in a vehicle. The environment I am in is high desert to alpine. I usually do weekly ruckmarches in full kit with weapon. This results in the weapon being exposed to your typical western high desert weather and a steady stream of sweat dripping off my face and onto my weapon that is usually resting on my chest harness. The dry weather here is not really conducive to corrosion even though I shoot and carry my weapon in all sorts of weather. I don't religiously clean my weapon, but as a combat grade weapon I don't consider that necessary. I have fallen several times during training, but my weapon and optics appeared no worse for wear. Go forth and do good things.

Love this sight! Has two apertures, one for close quarters or speed, and one for long range precision. Sight locks in up position and seems to be well made. Aperture height was correct for the DPMS front sight i purchased to go with this. Would buy another for for my next rifle. Pleased that Midway had this at my door in 2 days. Thanks Larry!

I have several of these, some used with A2 style FSB and some with YHM flip front sight. They are rugged, easy to install and easy to use. What more could you ask for?

Put it on my Bushmaster. I took off the carry handle and sight and put this on. Right away with no adjustments it was hitting 2" groups at 50 yds.

Lines up perfectly with a Yankee Hill folding front sight, as one would expect. Locks in the up position, does not lock down. Very high quality, sturdy construction typical of YHM. I'll be buying more for my other AR-15s!
