Each 2-Die Set includes a full length sizer die has an expander-decapping unit to remove the spent primer while expanding the case mouth. Great dies, well machined ...

Great dies, well machined and polished. Only issue with these is the oem lock ring. I replace these on every new set of RCBS dies with the split lock ring design.

I have used my RCBS Die ...

I have used my RCBS Die set for my 30-30 for just over two years now. The finish is standard as with all RCBS Dies. Not Bright but not dull. I do not care for the Die lock nut system. The problem is the set screw. If tightened to much, it will damage the die threads. Be careful when setting this small screw. The roll crimp on the bullet seating die is tricky to set. Get a Lee Factory crimp Die to add to this set and forget the roll crimp. The Decapping pin was straight and the interior of the die was nicely polished. The seating Die is not the best as the alignment is not like that found on inline seater Dies, but remember , These are standard dies and not benchrest Dies. Another factor to consider is that RCBS has great customer service. I rate these Dies with four stars.

For several years I have used RCBS reloading dies for most of the pistol and rifle cartridges I reload. The fit and finish of the dies are excellent, and they do a good job of producing assembled rounds with excellent uniformity in terms of bullet seating depth, case neck runout, and bullet runout. The die designs allow them to be disassembled for cleaning, reassembled, and adjusted very easily. There are two reasons I didnt give the dies 5 stars. 1) The die lock ring is locked to the die body with a brass set screw that screws down against the die body threads. Care must be taken to not strip the set screw. Using the old trick of putting a lead shot pellet between the set screw and the die body threads helps, but I find that the lock ring eventually works loose, which defeats the purpose of locking it down. A lock ring design with a cross bolt, such as those made by Hornady or Forster, is superior. The cross bolt firmly clamps the lock ring on the die without damaging the die or the lock ring. Ive replaced all of the lock rings on my RCBS and Redding dies with Forster cross-bolt lock rings, and Ive never had any come loose or had any other problems. 2) On most of the sizing dies I received from RCBS, the lock nut and guide bushing on the expander/decapper rod were so tight against each other that I had great difficulty getting them apart. This is not a die design flaw, but an assembly issue at the factory. In fact, I ended up destroying the screwdriver slot in the top of a couple of expander/decapper rods trying to use a screwdriver to keep the rods from rotating while I tried to loosen the lock nuts. Luckily, replacement rod assemblies are inexpensive. After that goof, I used the old trick of locking two hex nuts against each other at the top of the rod. Then you can use one wrench on the top one to keep the rod from rotating while you loosen the lock nut from the guide bushing with another wrench. When reassembling, use only enough torque to firm

Great Product Very easy ...

Great Product Very easy to use. To solve the set screw issue (over tightening will damage the die threads) just drop a small lead split- shot in the screw hole before installing the screw. The lead acts as a buffer so the threads don't get damaged and the screw does not have to be tightened as much.Thanks RCBS and Midway.
