Developed for military and law enforcement applications, these bullets feature a frangible, powdered-metal copper-tin core. What sets these bullets apart from other frangible projectiles is their gilding metal jacket, which keeps the bullets intact during rough handling, feeding and firing. This, in turn, reduces gun jamming occurrences from prematurely fragmenting bullets.

I have used the MPG ...

I have used the MPG bullets on wild hogs, and the results are devastating. I used .308 on a 225lb hog, and it dropped in its tracks. Used .223 55gr on a 150lb hog, and it dropped on the shoulder shot. When it raised its head, I put one behind the ear, and it did exit the other side. Tremendous damage; shoulder shots did destroy lungs, but did not damage far shoulders. These were designed for personal defense, and I would not hesitate to use them for that purpose. Boat tail would be a nice feature, but these are great bullets.

These bullets are great ...

These bullets are great for training ammo. I wouldn't suggest them for hunting anything larger than a prairie dog as they seem to offer a very shallow amount of penetration when fired into a 2 liter bottle filled with water. Accuracy seems to be as good as my favorite hand loads, although that isn't very important since I plan to use them for shooting gongs at close distance. They perform similar to other frangible bullets when they impact steel gongs. The only thing preventing me from giving them 5 stars is the flat bullet base. It makes loading them on a progressive slower than a boat tail bullet. But they are still worth the effort.

The bullet performs ...

The bullet performs fantastically. I really like the combined technology bullets but this was a question of the environmental point of whether or not it would do as well in accuracy and it really did 200 yards under a dime from a bench the gun and round were fantastic. No problem on coyote that was the only animal so far but look forward to whitetail season this fall.

Be thankful for those of ...

Be thankful for those of you who do not live in CA. Shooting lead-free bullets is mandatory. I found accuracy to be almost as good as lead, but they have to be seated very deep to chamber due to their l-o-n-g length. Have not hunted with them, but don't think I would use them on anything larger than a coyote.
