Here's an update on this ammo. I went hunting in December of 2004 in west Texas and decided to take this ammo through it's paces. The first evening of my hunt I called in a 130lb four-point whitetail and shot him at 125yards through the shoulders and broke both of them, he dropped where he was. The next morning I shot an 8-point that weighed 180lbs. Me on one hill and he on the other, he was on the run up the hill at an angle and I nailed him in the spine at 250yards. He dropped like a bag of bricks. On further inspection, the 130gr power-point broke into three pieces on his spine, with one piece exiting through the front of the neck puncturing the top of his lung.(Simply the best and most accurate deer bullet for the money.)

My normal ammo is the 130 grain Winchester silver tips but have not been able to locate that ammo. Was going on a hunting trip to South Carolina so I had to get what was in the store which was the Winchester 130 grain power point. With the silver tips I have never had a deer take another step after being shot. While in Carolina I shot a very large 8-point that I almost lost. This deer ran off after I made a perfect shot and he never dripped a drop of blood. I searched for over two hours and had given up on locating the deer. I found it laying dead approx 300 yards from where I shot him while I was walking back to my stand. I have killed three deer this year using the power point ammo and have had to track each deer with a very small blood trail. I can say I do not like this ammo and I will not use it for big game anymore.

Sighted in a new scope ...

Sighted in a new scope with this ammo two days ago. Three holes in the 1" square at 100 yds. off of a bag rest was good enough for my hunting needs. Yesterday; two shots, two kills. Neither of the two took a step. Vitals on each were devastated. For whitetails in these parts, I can't see the need to pay the extra for the high tech whiz bang bullets.

Before I started loading my own this is what I used in my Weatherby Vanguard VGS. In all the deer I killed with this stuff, 18 if I remember correctly, I never had to shoot one twice. Neck shots, lung shots and raking shots all produced the same result. One shot kills. Usually with total penetration and if not then the spent bullet was just under the skin on the opposite side.

Short and sweet.....groups at 1/2" at 100 yards with a Remington BDL. Recoil is more than some, but not bad at all. The Super X bullet is fantastic. Kills deer as dead as they can be, without spending much money.....keeper in my book.

Wow! This is great bullet and it is very accurate in my Savage .270. I shot a doe at 300 yards and she dropped. I've shot 8 deer with this bullet, and I haven't tracked any because the bullet does its job well. The price of the bullets is great too. You can't beat this ammunition

Its great ammo. I've never had any problem with it on large deer to hogs. It has dropped them where they were standing. I've used Remington 150 grain in my 270. It's also great stuff but I like this round a little better because of the soft nose jacket - it mushrooms great upon impact ill keep using it and so will my boys they love this stuff to keep up the good work Winchester!!

Surprisingly accurate ...

Surprisingly accurate ammo out of my sporterized Mauser, but it frequently jams when loading the magazine due to the extremely long overall length. I just load them one at a time and put up with the hassle because it is so accurate and cheap.
