Excellent fit and very ...

Excellent fit and very sharp checkering. Excellent upgrade for my SA and Kimber pistols. This is a complete unit, springs and pins included. Housing is made of aluminum, not steel.

Needed more fitting than ...

Needed more fitting than what should ever be necessary and the mainspring was wayyyyy too heavy and caused my hammer to lock against the slide.

Installed on Springfield G.I. I use for carry. Fit well and the MSH pin that was holding the old rounded safety lock one fits perfectly. Finish was a bit off from the rest of the gun, but I'd rather have it ugly and functional than pretty and malfunctioning. Didn't affect feel of firearm a great deal.

Great product at a great price. Required slight fitting in my Springfield Loaded, as would be expected. Checkering is well done. Side-to-side fit was good, with tighter tolerances sides and bottom. At this price, including all internals, this product can't be beat.

This unit is a complete Mainspring Housing Assembly including the spring, both plungers and a keeper pin. I like the aluminum housing. It is stronger than the plastic ones yet lighter than the steel housings. It is nicely machined and black anodized.I have thus far installed three of them, and found that the spring is about 3 lbs. stronger (with the upper plunger against the stop pin) than those in the housings I replaced. This increased my trigger pull, so I reused my original springs in the new housings.

Fastest shipping ever. Ordered on a Thursday, expected arrival was the following Monday. I received the item Saturday, only two days after placing the order. That was USPS 1st class. The item itself slid very easily into my Springfield GI 45 and the stock MSH pin fit perfectly. Had to tweak the internals just a hair, but really the change was barely noticeable in regards to the trigger and hammer operations. They were, if nothing else, a bit more crisp. I use a Hogue Ergonomic grip and the addition of the flat MSH increased grip-ability considerably. It's not the prettiest thing when put against the blued frame, but then again this is a carry gun. Great product, and you can't beat the price.

Excellent fit and finish!!!!This is a complete main spring housing made of aluminum, nothing else is needed. Mine is installed in a parkerized Springfield and it looks great!

Smith and Wesson must lose money on this part. I assumed that it was going to be an investment casting or a MIM part. It is actually fully machined from bar stock, including the checkering. I didn't take it apart upon arrival, but it feels like a standard 23lb mainspring is installed and this matches standard 5" 1911 specs. Finish is semi-gloss black, so it will not match a parkerized finish, but at this price, who cares. Also, I noticed that the anodizing rubs off the sharp edges very easily.

Very nice product! Fits properly in my Rock Island and Colt. Tight fit against sear spring and I swear this has made the trigger pull more crisp! : )
