Perfect alignment of the ...

Perfect alignment of the rounds - the fastest revolver reloads I've ever done. I've tried HKS before, but those ended up not releasing all cartridges properly into my Taurus 85 and Taurus 605 - No problems whatsoever with the Safarilands. I can highly recommend them for their reliable feed, especially if it is for concealed carry when your life can depend on fast reloading.

I have carried and used ...

I have carried and used Safariland COMP-2 and 3 speedloaders for almost 30 years and have ALWAYS been mort that satisfied with their durability and quality until I received the two J-C7 COMP-1 loaders this week. The first one I took out of the packaging broke in my hand before I could even use it. The button on top used to lock down the loads simply fell off in my hand. The second one, upon examination showed the button, which has two large holes through the sides, attached by a small pin which barely holds the button in place. From now on, I will use the COMP-2 for concealed carry for all my K, J, and N frame revolvers whenever I can find the appropriate caliber and size. I realize that with concealment, size is an important concern, but to me, the difference between the 1 and 2 in size is less important than the durability factor, so I have until now always used the 2 or the HKS of proper size and have never felt the need for the smaller COMP-1. I have carried concealed for about 39 years now, either with a CCW or on the job, and have always preferred the Safariland when they became available due to their means of operation vs. other types of loaders. They have never let me down, and I truly don't want to have that change; I just wish they would start making some of the COMP-2s again in the K, L, N, and X frame sizes for all the various calibers available.

I had used Comp-2's years ago for my Pythons, so when I got a Bodyguard38, I went to the Comp-1's without hesitation. I tried HKS loaders with a Colt Cobra, and wasn't impressed. Yes, they are still faster than loading loose rounds, but require turning the knob-another muscle memory to learn. With Safariland loaders, just push 'em in and slam the cylinder closed. Simple, reliable, concealable; whats not to like?

Compared to the HKS Revolver Speedloader this product is junk. Doesn't work on a Ruger LCR or S&W 437.

Very pleased with ...

Very pleased with Safariland COMP-1 purchased for my Smith and Wesson J Frame 637. However, the original grips that the gun sort of constricted a direct insertion into the cylinder. Changed to Hogue grips that allowed enough room to position the Safariland and worked like a champ. Click click done in a snap. It's a great product; fast and easy and was not at all its fault that the original Smith and Wesson grips were not designed better to allow more room to maneuver the cartridges. I'm sure larger frames with more room would be fine, as is. Just ordered three more Safariland's from Midway.

I like the way the ammo ...

I like the way the ammo is released into the cylinder. It's a spring loaded plunger that releases when you push down. However if you have custom grips like Hogue Rubber Grips, the loader can't get past the grips. You'll have to stick with the small factory wood grips.

Work very well with my S&W Bodyguard 38. Charging method does take some getting used to (compared to "regular" speed loaders) and can be cumbersome, if you're in a hurry.

This speedloader works well for the Ruger SP-101. For those who worry about the Comp-I durability, I wouldn't worry-they will take punishment if you accidentally drop them on a wood or concrete floor without padding, and still work as expected.

Took some initial getting use to but once you get the hang of it they work great. Best used over a flat surface to get the clips to engage. Buy two of them. They have held up well to the regular weekend recreational use.

This is a great speedloader as long as you don't need to use it more the 4 or 5 times. After that the plastic parts (of which this is entirely made from) wear out and round over. The action that holds the cartridges in strips and the unit becomes useless. It doesn't even make a good paper weight because its all plastic. The concept is excellent. The materials are junk. Unfortunately it won't stand up to practice.

Far and away the best speed loaders on the market. I have used the comp1 and comp2 speed loaders on Ruger, Smith and Wesson and Taurus revolvers with no problems at all. They are faster than HKS speed loaders and they hold the cartridges secure without rattling. To respond to the people who gave them one star and are complaining that the loader does not clear the grip on their gun, well then that is a problem with your grips not the speed loader. If the grips are too big and bulky than you are going to have trouble using any speed loader of any brand. Buy a set of Hogue grips for your gun. They are made to allow the use of all speed loaders.
